As a client since fall 2016, I've been impressed with the positive transitions as new trainers come on board and current trainers say good-bye. This past quarter I began work with a new person, Rich, and the "hand-off" went quite smoothly. The departing trainer gave me a few weeks' notice, giving me time to process the change. Rich observed me with both the departing person and another trainer, Noah, who has worked with me for many months. Rich brings a great combination of fitness skills and overall upbeat personality; that's been the case for everyone I've worked with at FT Silver Spring. I sense that the two trainers briefed Rich on all the details of my workout likes and dislikes, since he's added them easily into our work, often without my mentioning them first.

This quarter, the trainer I work with most often has introduced exercises to help me reach a goal of better everyday functioning despite my diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. As I work with her on core strength, balance and communication between the brain and the body, I recall many of the exercises I learned with physical therapists a few years ago. I appreciate both the science of this new set of exercises and the way she is putting it all together.
