Less pushing for joining your club, for a price, in order to be able to exchange shoes, etc. I realize there are other benefits to it, but there is a charge to do something that other stores simply treat as a cost of doing business. I.e., at most athletic shoe stores, you can RETURN for REFUND or exchange shoes which don't work, as long as they're not excessively worn. To have to be a paid club member to do this seems a bit much.
Melissa fit me on Sunday, 09/10 and it was an awesome experience! I am training for my first trail marathon in six months, and Melissa was the best person I could have ran into (haha, punny!). I came in packed with so many questions and concerns about my training, my shoe fit, and sheer curioustiy on alternative running mileages and future races. Melissa was incredibly knowledgeable about various running terrain, training, and shoe fit, for she is an ultra runner herself. She never once made me feel like I was taking up too much of her time or asking silly questions. She made sure that I was completely satisfied with my choices (which, I'll admit, I ran around A LOT until I maybe came down to a decision.. :) and talked me through a lot of my concerns. Melissa was also able to help me look through hydration options, and various gear that I could consider when exploring longer distances in my training and race. She also made me feel like I was welcome back, if I ever needed further guidance or questions. It was an incredibly beneficial fit, and I will absolutely be back, even to just say hello and snag some more advice from the incredible running community at Fleet Feet PDX!
I have just returned to purchase my 3rd pair of Brook's walking shoes. I love the personalized service and attention I receive that is customized to address my foot challenges. I am proud to be a loyal customer. An extra bonus is having the store in my neighborhood and within walking distance.
I go to your store because of the knowledgeable salespeople, who know running shoes. However, there is virtually no parking which will drive away customers. Parking has gotten worse due to the opening of new condominiums and apartments, near to your store.
