All the people that work for Floyd Propane (Office and Propane deliverers) are not only professional but caring individuals. I switched to Floyd many years ago because of the easy payment plan but also because they really seem to care about my needs when it came to finances but especially their "family" atmosphere.
From the cheary girls in the office to the pleasant delivery man (Dave), it would seem that everyone is happy and enjoys their jobs. When I moved down here twenty years ago the owner, Allen Floyd, then his son, Hal, were top notch and gave me the best propane prices of anyone. The new owners seem to maintain all the same high standards of the past! I shall continue to be their loyal customer.
I am not a heavy user of Propane. I use it for heating water and cooking. When I require Propane I am treated fairly by the staff both at the office and by delivery.
There is one thing that does aggravate me. That is Tank Rental. Since I am not a heavy user I receive a bill for tank rental. The rental of the tank can be as much as the propane I use in a year. I feel I am being penalized for conserving energy (not being a large user).
During my last visit I inquired about purchasing the 250 gallon tank manufactured in 1987. The receptionist found a way to delay the tank rental fee by filling my tank (about 1/2 full), but this only will work up to a point. Next year I will be faced with another tank rental fee and many not be able to full fill the required minimum delivery.
In this day and age when we all should be thinking of energy conservation I do not think it is good policy to penalize someone for being a light user of energy. I also fell that Floyd Propane should be compensated for the use of their tank. Why not let me purchase it?
We were almost out of propane and the terrific guy ("Dave?") checked w the office and got authorization to fill our tank. I was so relieved as I hadn't checked the gauge when I should have. My husband and I both saw the Floyd truck and went outside independently in the rain to check with him. He was great! Sorry I don't recall his name.
