My Son attended the swimming week, week 7 of the summer camp. The basketball part of the activities has impacted him the most. It inspired his to love the game and now he cant wait to sign up for the Caveliers junior camp whenever it is available.
I have been absolutely thrilled with the camp and am really excited to sign my child up for more weeks/ more specialties next year. My only critique, which does lower my score from a 10 to a 9 would be maybe some staff need more mentoring/ education/ support on how to interact in positive ways with the students. I know it is A LOT to have 20 plus kids all pulling for your attention, and that is why teaching is not for everyone! I was hearing about one teacher in particular who did a lot of yelling, and this made my child pretty anxious to go the first few days. If this teacher is brought back another year, I think some serious training and mentoring needs to take place, but may deter me from signing my child up for that particular specialty.
I like the facility: clean, upbeat environment, cool temps during current extreme heat / humidity.
Presenters are motivated & energetic. More importantly they communicate well during their presentation . Their speaker can be heard. They are skilled & present information on the exercises which is very helpful.
I’m a silver sneaker member and like the exercise classes held in the Presbyterian Church in Amherst. Excellent instructors, but need to have substitutes so the instructors can have someone to fill in when needed.
The focus on the child, their development, working with others, growing, learning. You can tell a lot of effort is out into the programs and my kids enjoy themselves. I also really appreciate the tech- free experience.
My kids are only attending for a total of 2 weeks this summer, but they have loved it. They really enjoy the field trips. They really like the coaches (especially Coach Kam!) They loved the chicken games and my older son still watches the videos on YouTube.
Hannah does a GREAT job letting the campers have a variety of free play and organized exercises, and I cannot say how much I love the value system. Thank you to Hannah and all of the staff! Cannot recommend this camp highly enough!
Positive feedback from child in the program except for counselor Jewles. This counselor would use language (swearing) that we don't use at home. I just explained to the children that it is inappropriate behavior and not to model it.
Our son has been attending Sports Camp now for 4 years. He loves the relationship with the Crushers and that they get to play on the field. He also lo es being Miss Hannah's helper. He is learning responsibility when given tasks to complete. Hannah ROCKS!
There is such a wide variety of offerings, something for everybody. We are enrolled in the Move 2 Lose program and our classmates have become our friends. We also like the EGym and the availability of all the equipment, which is maintained and kept clean.
