Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. We had a million questions, but everyone was very patient and helped give us advice. The process for rental was smooth and easy.
Absolutely wonderful experience with the fitting. The men & women working at the Linda Vista are absolutely down to earth, super helpful and were very friendly with the whole experience of trying on the suits and fitment.
Theyre so professional. So quick. Idk what they did to secure the right size pants the next day (next day! One day later!) when I came in for my fitting and foind that my pants were too toght but man theyre awesome. Thanks guys
Love the suits for my wedding this past Sunday! Also the gal who helped us pick everything out was so amazing and helpful.. loved her.. highly recommend!!!
Considering this was my first time being part of a wedding, better yet my first time ever renting a suit the process was extremely simple and took away a lot of that stress. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, making sure to cater to any questions or concerns I may have had. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family, and am even considering buying a suit from them!
I've used Friar Tux for years and have been pretty satisfied. The fitting process is always easy and the staff are very nice. The quality and condition of the rented attire is always very good. There has definitely been upward price creep over the years -- but I haven't shopped around to see if that's industry wide or just them. I will use them again but I must say there were a few problems this time around than with previous rental experiences there. First, when I came in for a try-on a few days before my event, the pant hems had been sewn so loosely and with so much extra fabric inside above the hemline, my foot caught the excess when putting them on and easily ripped out the whole hem. They were very good about re-hemming the while I waited (about 20-30 minutes) and did a double-stitched hem with less loose fabric inside the leg -- but one wonders why they don't don't do that to start with. What if that had happened at the event instead of at the try-on? I had also arranged with them to send the Tux back to them instead of returning it to them in person because it was going to be an out-of-town wedding and I was not coming back to San Diego right after the event. I've done that before and they have always nicely provided a pre-paid label and return packaging. This time, I asked for the pre-paid label. At first they said that I hadn't requested a mailed return and that's why I didn't get the label. I had them look it up in their system and they found I had, in fact, requested it. Then they said they had e-mailed it to me. But I hadn't received it (and didn't know to look for it because no one told me that's what would happen when I placed the order. We found they had an incorrect e-mail address for me -- but they couldn't print it out there or re-send the e-mail themselves. They had to call some central office to get that done which took some time -- no big deal really. Then I asked for the return packaging. They said (again) it hadn't been requested. I asked them to look up the order again and, again, it had in fact been requested. I figured they could just give me the packaging. But they said, no -- that has to come from some central office. I pointed out that I was leaving in 2 days and would not receive it in time. "Sorry -- you can just use any box." Well, that's fine -- but have you ever tried to find a box big enough to return a tux, including shoes on a Sunday afternoon in an unfamiliar city without a car. Two $27 Uber rights later and $20 for a large enough box from the only Fedex Office open late enough on Sunday afternoon (UPS office had no appropriate size boxes but at least I was able to walk there from the hotel!) when I was supposed to be at the "Farewell" lunch before heading to the airport -- I managed to get it shipped back. It was pretty frustrating -- and moreso because they just dismissed my concern about not having the packaging to give me when I picked the tux up and didn't even offer an apology. Would it be that hard to have a return package or two in each store for when they forget to order one? Anyway, they're convenient and have nice clothes so I guess I'll just chalk this up to s*** happens.
