We ordered some parts for our Brinkley and Jonathan was very accommodating! Kept us posted and called as soon as the parts came in. And… even went an extra step in getting the parts to us.
Kathryn and Andrew kept me informed and worked with me every step of the way. I love the craftsmanship that your techs have and I love the peace of mind General RV of Huntley gives us. Already have my end of season service paid for and set up for winter storage.
We plan on trading in our 5th wheel in a couple of years and upgrading to a diesel pusher. We wouldn’t buy from anyone but General RV.
From the front receptionist to sales to walk-through to service to finance, everyone was great help with good information and was very patient in teaching me how to operate everything.
I drove up from Northwest Arkansas to get the trailer and they were good to make sure things were safe for towing 600 miles.
It was a good experience for me. I'm not local to this dealership. But if I were, I would use them.
Although my appointment time was messed up which was not their fault. They stepped up and got everything done in a timely fashion. My RV was clean, fueled and ready to go. I appreciate that very much. There were some minor problems that needed to be repaired and that was done while I was doing the paperwork with your finance manager.
The experience was fantastic. Everybody from the receptionists to sales to service to finance to delivery are so well interconnected that you feel like you are the only one being waited on. Yet the place was packed with customers.
Joe Crement from sales was so patient with us. We first thought we wanted a travel trailer, then next visit we wanted to see the fifth wheel, then next visit we wanted to see the destination trailer. He prepared ahead of time making sure the RVs were ready to be walked through and made sure we had all of our questions answered and was not in any hurry to move on, even though one day he had a special night planned but still did not feel rushed. And his sense of humor is the greatest!
Mike Basso from finance was not the regular pushy type that you see at a car dealership. He was very much interested in knowing more about us and made us feel very comfortable. He presented us offers and respected our decisions to decline. It was much different than what we were expecting.
Ed Lahey was our camping specialist taking us on a 2 hour tour of the destination trailer. We felt very welcomed as we were presented with VIP badges and a “welcome to the Schmidt’s”sign as we entered the RV. We thought that was a cool touch! Also appreciated Ed being up front and telling us about the windshield being cracked without us having to discover it. We had many questions which Ed answered and ones he couldn’t answer was able to find someone who could. He made a list of things that were missing(vacuum hose) and things we saw that didn’t look quite right. Ed also took us over to meet Enoch Peterson, the service technician. Really appreciated Ed’s time.
We also met Tyler Nardone who will be working with us on delivery.
And can’t forget the receptionist’s. They are the ones you first meet and their warm smiles and quick “welcome how can I help you” really get you started in becoming comfortable with this place. One name I remember is Leslie. They have fresh cookies which they make in the kitchen at the place. Another nice touch.
I don’t think I have ever been at a dealership where the whole process went so smooth. A seamless progression from start to end. Really shows how well this team works together. We were very impressed.
Zack Holmes was awesome at getting the parts installed on my grand Cherokee so I could flat tow it behind my new Motorhome. But the delivery was a total nightmare on my new coach. They never touched after the walk through before I paid for the coach. No paint protection or anything else was done. Sent me home without fueling it up or topping off the DEF. Came back on Friday for them to do the work and they put the paint protection on but did not do much. I spent 7 hours there with them still not feuling it up again and then spent five hours scrubbing the grout residue off the floor. They worked on the stove cover only to get glue on the counter so I would recommend the sales but I’m not real confident on the service side right now. I would rate Zack a 10 on working on my flat tow end but a 1 on the other people in service I know they were busy on the Monday I took delivery but to just park it and say there you go is not what I would think is being a good service center. I didn’t just buy a 10,000 dollar trailer so my expectations for buying a 400,000 motorhome were definitely not met. I will still use them and hopefully I get better service next time
Our service advisor, Zac Calhoun went out of his way to accommodate our tight schedule as well as design an economical service plan. Then when additional work was added lastminute.com, the shop foremanand techs still met our schedule.
Great overall service
I can only speak from my experience with the service and support departments at the Huntley Illinois location.
They have done a fantastic job to root out and resolve a number of issues on a new holiday rambler Armada 40 M that I purchased from the Huntley location.
The sales process would rate a zero on a 10 point scale and I believe the sales guy was fired as a result of my transaction and the concerns that I expressed about his inability to remain in touch, inability to answer questions, etc., so I would not rate the sales organization in Huntley location as an organization I would recommend given the price point that I would be investing or that of any of my business associates.
On the other hand from a service and support standpoint, I believe this organization is solid in the Huntley location most notably Matt in the Service department and Andrew in the customer support department and the respective managers in those departments. I would buy a coach from Huntley based upon the service and support department performance.
