We have found the staff at General RV to be pleasant and helpful. We have purchased new rv’s in the past and understand the break in and shakedown period and that repairs and adjustments need to be made. The new rv we purchased at General RV was a very unusual situation that required multiple repairs,many hours of troubleshooting by the service technicians, and issues that rendered the RV not usable for the first 5 1/2 months we owned it. Obviously this was beyond disappointing and frustrating for us. To the staff’s credit they worked with us, the rv manufacturer, and the truck manufacturer to get issues resolved. We are very appreciative of their efforts.

We needed help RIGHT AWAY with an A/C unit that we thought had failed. We worked with Ty in the Ashland service department. He got our Tiffin in for diagnostics as soon as we arrived, explained the problems and short-term fixes, ordered a new unit for a long-term solution, and scheduled the final work in the same week. Ty kept us apprised of the work being done, and also was very attentive and professional. There really was no room for improvement in our experience. Kudos to Ty!

We had a blow out on Rt. 95 on our 2026 Grand Design Imagine 2500RL. The right rear tire (Goodyear Endurance E Load) blew out 2 miles from our destination campground. I had to put the spare tire on while on the side of the road at the exit ramp. One reason we stay at the campground, we know that General RV, our dealer has the Ashland, VA location nearby. I spoke with the parts and service department to verify that they had the same size tire so that we could continue our trip. We checked out at 11:00 am the next morning and immediately went to General RV. They were able to replace the right rear tire and verify that the aluminum wheel was not damaged. Our service advisor, April Spoon was awesome! She is very polite and professional. We left General RV a little after 4:00 pm to continue our trip north. Honest disclosure: Please note that we bought our camper at a different General RV location in West Chester, PA. The West Chester location has a great service department also with experienced technicians. However, the Salisbury, NC location that is relatively new is not a good location for service repairs. We experienced extreme delays, passed along to different service advisors (newly hired), shoddy work, items not completed, not submitting warranty approvals to Grand Design, not returning phone calls, unavailable service manager, etc. The Salisbury, NC location had our camper for 2 1/2 months during our first year of ownership and still couldn't complete repairs. We weren't treated as customers. Just terrible. Bottom line, all stores are not created equal.

I want to single out Mark Johnson for his excellent walk around explanation of the operating systems on our new Newmar motorhome. He was knowledgeable and patient with all our questions.
