I lived in Northbrook for 26 years. This bike store has always been there. Its name changed. Its service, kind staff, and knowledge on old bikes, idiots like me want because they use to have the same one a long time ago in a state far far away… I live in Glenview now. I googled just to make sure they were still there and to get the phone number. I was greeted with an exceedingly kind yes, but we are a bit booked out due to the weather finally being nice and people wanting to bike now.
Anyway TLDR: Go here. Don't bother with any other store around here. The store still looks and smells the same from when I was a kid. In what I can only describe as the best way possible. What a blast from the past!
Great bike services. I’ve brought in my bike three times once for an issue with the front derailleur and then for regular servicing. Also for getting tires upgraded. Happy with the results every time. We bought my daughter’s 20 inch Trek from you all late last year and she loves it. Best, Vikram
Annual tune up time and as usual, you guys were very targeted about what was needed and recommended that I did not need tune ups for our bikes and saved me a lot of money. It’s the honesty and the excellent job.
In the past 3.5 years we’ve purchased 4 bikes from George Garner Cyclery in Northbrook. Each experience has been professional, easy, and fun. Buying a bike should be fun. The product is top quality and so too is the service. Its the little things; the knowledge, the bike fitting, moving accessories from one bike to the next, and not so little but offers tremendous value and piece of mind - 2 years of free check ups / maintenance. Its one of those things I didn’t think about too much when moving to Northbrook, but having a family owned business like this in the neighborhood has been huge for us.
