Would like to see
-consistant dance instructors
-more homeschool classes. We pass this Y to drive to Bremerton for their M-Th programs.
Shout out to coach Andrea! of the hammerheads.
*Im not quite sure the pool deck emergency procedures are working. Weve been here multiple times in the past few months during situations causing evacuation and it seems pushing everyone in to the locker rooms causes more chaos and confusion than needed. Have also witnessed staff not staying "calm and collected" during said times. Not sure if it's Ymca procedure or just Haselwood but...
Would like to see STEM homeschool class, homeschool classes pool swim color bands needs a better on boarding process. Also- clearing the entire pool facility for one person in need of attention is rediculous, the area- totally understandable. Your lightning proceedure seems over the top with instructions to not shower, for fear of electrocution-no way.Why have slides at the pool if they aren't available? Why can't kids use kick boards/community toys? Why are the rules different here than at the other YMCA's? We mainly come here for the pool- we love the 45min swim lessons for homeschool classes. Thank you for more rock climbing opportunities.
Not the exercising! The facility, however, is clean, spacious, friendly, and well-equipped. There are plenty of classes, trainers, and educational opportunities for everyone.
I took advantage of the "Kick Start" program and found it to be so valuable. With a plan set up for me, I take advantage of the Y 3 to 4 days a week. I have shared this with some of my friends and hope that they start using the Y facilities, as well. This is such a great facilitiy to have in our community and feel lucky it is available to us all.
The gentle yoga and combo classes are great. It’s very hard to find parking some days though, and if I’m not standing outside the classroom door for gentle yoga about 15 mins prior to start, it fills so fast you almost can’t find a spot to set up.
Suggest using a bigger space or offering more frequency of classes for the smaller classes. Thank you!
There is a sense of community in the membership. I can start up a conversation with someone in the pool or on the pickleball court!
I also like the active older adults program on M/W/F.
A real strength of the YMCA is the fact that you can join any class and try it.
Very polite and friendly people. Just lost my wife of 41 years and needed somewhere to feel welcome. They say hello when I arrive and tell me to have a good day when I leave. They notice me and that makes me feel good. I recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone. Sincerely, Leon Leslie
Wonderful facility. We just wish it was closer to us. It's thirty two miles for us to go to the gym. We know there was an effort to build a new y m c.A in north kitsap, but haven't heard much since the initial information came out.
Thank you for the great facility.
