Besides the outstanding facility options, an atmosphere of friendliness and inclusiveness is successfully fostered, and very much appreciated.

Friendly staff and a huge supply of equipment.

The YMCA offers the best workout machines, great classes and an indoor running track. They have racket and pickleball courts. Enjoy the swimming pools, hot tub and sauna room. Bring the kids and enjoy.

I've been a regular early morning visitor for the past five years, an important aspect of my weekly routine. The Haselwood Y's an exceptionally warm, friendly, welcoming facility, obviously family-friendly, catering to all ages and fitness levels.

Great facility! Been a member since day one. Would like to give a shout out to Stanley the custodian in charge. This guy is a machine. He is by far the hardest working individual at the Y! Don't lose him. Also, I can't remember her name (don't see her working at the Y anymore). This individual is the only one that I have seen enforce the Y's written regulations (on the blue board). There were some very young kids with their dad using the push sleigh. Some were pushing while others were riding. Dad a willing participant. She noticed this and asked another employer to stop the action. My biggest complaint is that individuals sit/stay on a particular machine while not working out. Majority are more focused on their cell phones. They spend more time not working out than working out. Others sit there while holding conversations. I have noticed some signs posted to "stop" this. Nice attempt, however, falls well short of stopping these actions. If one wants to spend time on their phones, stay home or get off the machines so someone else can use it. If socializing is the goal again, same as above. There is always someone else ready to use a machine, Common courtesy and gym etiquette. Suggestion: have your staff enforce this and/or put some sort of message on each individual machine. Yes members can say something to one on the machine, however, I have seen too many problems arise when one speaks up. Also, it should not be a gym members job to do this. Another issue is the ventilation in the area of the treadmills, elliptic, bikes... This area was not the original location for this equipment. The majority of this aerobic area is void of good cooling ventilation. With the exceptions of a few wall mounted fans in the corner where the rowing machines are, the circulation is inadequate The closer to the pool windows the warmer it gets. As we all know, heat rises. Not only does one heat up during their workout, they also get the heat from the first level. I see a fan on the floor by the pool window corner. This does very little for the masses. I often see it positioned so that one person reaps the benefits. This situation only get worse in the summer. Recommendations: switch the over head ceiling fans on high mode and going in the correct directions so that the air is directed downward. Ultimately would like to see more wall mounted fans throughout this area. Lastly, the equipment itself. Lately I have seen more and more pads cracking. There is one rower that has it's foot strap pieces together by two buckles (uncomfortable on the foot). Another rowers foot strap was cut so short that one could not put their foot in. If one could maneuver their foot in, there was no strap left to tighten it. This has since been fixed. Only mention this because the strap stayed this way for weeks. I myself have noticed bolts. screws... on equipment coming loose which could lead to safety issues. Recommendation: have your staff look at the equipment from time to time. I'm not one to sit idle and have brought up all the issues mentioned at some time w/ no action take. The white muli purpose unit in the are of the maintenance rooms has screws that have once again come loose where the adjustable platform is. The multi dip unit upstairs has the round foot rest pads (2) smashed in to the point that the foot rest "T" handle is off centered. Again, this is a fantastic facility! Would like to see some issues corrected. I know I am not the only one with some of these issues, just one to speak out and make them known. so that the facility can remain the best I Kitsap.

Employees and volunteers are always very polite, helpful and professional. I love the set up with the track, exercise machines, free weights and all the great programs that the Y offers. It is very convenient to have a Kitsap Physical Therapy office on site. The atmosphere at Haselwood YMCA is wonderful with great staff and clientele.

EVERTHING BOB AND MARY LOU REISTER

The Y is wonderful, but you need to know that there is a homeless camp starting up at the entrance of the Y on Poplar street. It's across from the place the kids play when you have events. IMO it's dangerous and should be removed asap. More will come and it will not be safe for persons or vehicles in the area.

Steam room and staff. Being a professional, I would like longer hours so I can still make it of the day runs long, especially Sunday (till 6 pm) and weekdays till 10 pm.
