The Mon. and Fri. Silver Sneakers classes are very well taught at High St. "Y". She is also genuinely interested in those who come to the classes and is nicely friendly.
I love the pool. The water is generally not too cold. And I hate getting into cold weather. I know, I know, once in it's fine, but I'm talking about the gettin in part. And I enjoy watching the (good) teachers teach the swimming lessons to children.
I used to enjoy exercising in the exercise area, but can't use that area now that the toxic flooring has been put down. The "Y" staff must educate themselves about the effects of hazardous, toxic chemicals on the body, so that they stop buying and installing toxic products. You can't assume that just because something is for sale, it's safe to buy/use.
I haven't been regular in getting to the "Y" for too long now, but am eager to get back to 3-5 days/week before long. it's been a busy time for me, in re: other things than exercising and swimming.
Love the friendliness at the High St. "Y", both on the part of staff and of people who use the "Y">Thanks for a wonderful job, High Street "Y" staff. (Except for the bad flooring bought.)
Beaumont has excellent instructors who lead its group classes and keep them varied and challenging.
I find that the staff are always welcoming and inclusive
I like that High Street YMCA has many smaller spaces where I can have relative privacy while working out. The gender separate steam room and sauna are also make me more comfortable.
