I answered the original question with a 9 rating because we bring people with us to play every season. We have a great time playing sports with our friends and using the facility. We wish there were more teams to play against, especially as the kids get older, even if that meant traveling to other YMCAs in the northern Harris/southern Montgomery counties a few times per season; it is frustrating to play the same team each week, especially since it has gone on in multiple sports over several years. We have had friends register to play with us only to end up unhappy and not return due to this specific problem.
We would also love to see the quality and consistency of officiating improve. The staff are all great kids. However, there is an obvious gap in confidence, knowledge, and skill set among them, which makes for inconsistencies in how the game is called from week to week. The enforcement of rules seems to depend on which officials are assigned on a given day.
We continue to register for programs because it is convenient, a price we're willing to pay, and Jason works with us on scheduling. We would love to see the program continue to grow.
My son has not participated in multiple programs. But did enjoy playing soccer.
I like that the YMCA reached out to know if I needed further assistance. The location is near my home.
We are excited about the pool, and getting the kids in a swimming program, but since we have 4 in different ages, we would like to have them all go at the same time for different learning levels and ages.
Soccer leagues are great. My kids both enjoyed it this spring.
Enthusiastic, caring coaches who are wonderful at making all kids feel included and encouraged, no matter their level, shyness, etc!
Upbeat, friendly atmosphere. Plenty of activities for siblings to engage in while their brother or sister is in a class or game.
Affordable prices and good communication.
