The value of the service is to pick up on the little things. To do more than is required. To anticipate the upcoming possible issues.
For example, bringing in the mail is great. That's more than many home pet-sitters usually do. It's standard for the really good ones. But, looking at the mail to see if anything is marked "Urgent" or "Time Sensitive," and making the customer immediately aware of this, is going way above and beyond. That's how "10s" are achieved. How excellent reviews are prompted. (And how great tips are generated.)
Another issue is emergency access. I need to feel that I have the ability to instantly connect with someone about any issues I'm having when I'm away. Even if I get a strange feeling. When I call and get a voicemail, or text and receive a response 5 hours later, that's just not worthy of a "10."
What about the trash? Do you take it out every time you're there? "No...It's not full." But doing that makes it impossible for that the pets to knock in over and get into it? That's a "10."
It really is about thinking ahead. About all the potential issues. The kind of thing that teenagers or 20-somethings tend to be really bad about. They go to do a job. Execute whatever is on the check-list. But don't think beyond that. "Well. That's all I'm required to do." There's nothing exceptional about that.
I love the peace of mind Home Buddies gives us while we are at work! It's comforting to know that someone who we trust completely will be coming to our home and give our dogs, Emmy Lou and Jake a mid day potty break.
Glenn seemed very knowledgeable and was very patient . He listened to our concerns and answered several questions. The strategies he taught our family is helping to decrease our dog's ( Jet ) negative behavior. We highly recommend him!!
I love that you came to the home to witness the dog in their own environment. Glen was a great listener, even at my fast paced talking. He didn't come predetermined to use his plan. He was adaptive on what I told him and was very flexible with helping us out.
Also, he was extremely patient and took a great deal of time on our dog.
Thank you so much!
