My 7yr old daughter has struggled with her speech since age 3 and then her reading was challenged from aged 5-7yrs, I decided it was time to pull up my own socks and start private tutoring when her report card reflected her struggle in learning. We chose the intensive program at Huntington. Huntington is a place where she feels safe without others laughing, where she could overcome her challenges and learn to read and write, she now loves going there to learn. Huntington helped her believe she could learn to read and that reading and writing is fun.
Huntington has been great for my student. He has improved his standardized test scores, moved out of his school interventions as well as improved in his class performances.
I am amazed at the help my child has received. Everyone has been amazing at helping my child build their confidence. I can’t say enough good things about their program!
You actually tailor your tutoring to the tests, rather than trying to teach the subjects represented in the tests. You understand how to train someone to be good at taking the ACT/SAT as efficiently as possible , and that streamlined process is why I came back.
This center has a wide range of male and female tutors from different backgrounds (not skin color wise, but generation and socio-economic backgrounds).
My son has adhd and fell belpw grade level significantly at his public school. Not many have the know-how, empathy, and patience to effectively teach a student who struggles with mental health.
Beth, and another younger gentleman tutor who rides his bike to Huntington (I can't think of his name right now) are both more than capable of teaching my 12 yr old African-American son who has this struggle with adhd. He has THRIVED in the four or so months he has been at this Huntington location. He now corrects my word choices at times, as he has gained a good size vocabulary. He is increasingly confident sharing in class at school and his overall confidence in general has improved significantly!
Cassie is great also. She listens, is accommodating, and does not belittle. Her counterpart Sandra, is excellent in those ways as well.
