Huntington Learning Center in Skokie came highly recommended, and we are beyond grateful for the referral from another family. Their evaluation process is incredibly thorough, and Mrs. Cheri stands out in her dedication—clearly explaining the results and walking us through an individualized plan to support our child’s needs. We’re thrilled with the progress our son has made in just a few months. He’s now excited and engaged in learning at the center—something we hadn’t seen at his school. The teachers not only support him academically, but their encouragement has also helped boost his confidence. The entire staff provides exceptional service, creating a welcoming environment where our family feels seen, heard, and valued. Huntington is truly making a difference, and we’re so hopeful about our son’s academic future.

The teachers are very encouraging and have high expectations for the students. We are given timely reports on our son's progress and he has made great progress in a short period of time The schedule is very accommodating and flexible for the student and parent..

I like that as a parent I am periodically kept informed about my child's progress, I may choose the tutoring environment - 1:1 or small group, and my child's reading comprehension skills have greatly improved. My child enjoys the reading passages that he reads, and he tells me that he feels more confident when he has to complete a writing assignment.

My stepson at first was hesitant to go. After 3 months I asked him if he felt an improvement and whether or not he liked it? He said he likes with a smile on his face! Then speaking to María the Director I was very impressed with the way they analyzed my stepson’s progress. The staff is kind and very professional!

Our 6 year old has really connected with his tutors. Each tutor has made learning fun which has eased his worries about the upcoming school year

The child first goes through an assessment, so the parent knows exactly what skills need to be worked on and improved upon. Then all the different assessments are explained to the parent along with all the results. After the child has been attending a few sessions the parents go in for a conference where all the materials that the teachers are using with your child are shown and explained to the parents. I like that the parents are kept informed about their child's progress as their child is going through the sessions.

They tailor learning to the individual child. Like most kids, the thought of doing "extra school" is rough! However, HLC works with the family's to keep the child engaged. My daughter was struggling with schoolwork but mainly reading and the comprehension behind it. She was reading a grade level behind and now that she's nearing the end of her time at Huntington, she's reading a grade level above! As much as she has days that she didn't want to go to "book club" as we called it, she fully acknowledges how much it has helped her!! We will forever be grateful to HLC and their entire staff!

The program helps alot as i have seen the grades increase and also helps them in the classroom as well. Mia the manager is great to work with, she explains everything thoroughly, addresses our needs and feedback and has been very workable when we needed to move calendars around. She genuinely cares and wants to do what is right. My girls liked the teachers as well and were accodomated with the ones they liked the best. overall a great program and well worth it.

You made effort to find out my student areas need improvement & work on them. The instructors inspire my student to do better. Not once he grumbles about going for a session. I always get prompt responds when I write to Mia, who is super patience with us.
