I love the values and how they focus on one a week. My daughter loved getting her medal. The emphasis on having fun is the best! I think they are learning more that way.
The experience. My kids enjoy soccer. I do wonder if it might be beneficial to have and i9 coach to help facilitate/give some instruction during practice.
Just a thought, but were fans!
Quick and all in one place for practices and games is so easy at this early level. Love the ethos and team spirit. Really appreciate the refs also teaching and coaching as the little ones learn the game. I often recommend i9 to other parents.
I am very likely to refer the program however, I feel like the program could do a better job of getting the players to know each other a bit more. It seems there is not really the introduction or team bonding aspect of team sports.
Delivered what you promised - a fun, non-competitive program for kids to learn sports & values for life. We're really enjoying the program. It was also easy to register and get information on the support / call line.
I'd invite you to consider the "volunteer coach" part of it - I get it that this is probably what makes the program feasible, but I'm sure the experience wouldn't have been the same if we didn't get the great coach we did (and had the coach from the other team, for example - a lot of good intention, but just not what I'd expect for a program we are paying a considerable amount for..) I would be totally fine with having (or even being!) an assistant coach or even referee, but I think every team should have a coach from i9 to ensure the same quality and optimize the time together in the field.
I love the structured approach, with clear instructions for each drill—dribbling, passing, rebounding, defense, and shooting/layups. The coaches make every skill easy to understand while keeping it fun and engaging, sparking real interest in the sport.
Everyone is very friendly. Cheering for any kid who has tried the best. Every kid has the same chance to play, not only great players. Experienced a couple great coaches encourage passing everyone, focus on every kid’s participations, not just the best players in the team. That really helps build confidence to weaker player like my kid. He has done basketball with other programs but he’s only able to build confidence with i9 coaches. Perhaps i9 coaches are parent volunteers [LAST NAME REMOVED] they understand the importance of offering opportunity and participation to help kids build team spirit and confidence.
