My son has done 8 seasons of flag football and he has grown as a player and a teammate. He enjoys it and has met friends as well as played with some friends from school.
Coaches typically work really hard. This year in particular my sons coaches are really focused on growing the team community as well as the player. We are grateful for and enjoy i9!
The program is organized, the staff is friendly, the communication is excellent, and the practices and games are the perfect length and times. My son has enjoyed playing t-ball for multiple seasons with i9. One suggestion to make the experience better would be to communicate with coaches how to keep the young players engaged and not frustrated when they don't get the ball while fielding. Suggesting to the coaches to designate 1-2 kids per batter to field the ball so everyone has a chance during the game to field and throw the ball would make the games and experience much better for the younger kids. It would also teach turn-taking, how to wait, how to support teammates, and would decrease frustration for kids and parents.
I love the program for my four-year-old. The coaches were great, very accepting, and understanding of my child’s needs. I was proud to see they actually like what they do and cared for the children playing.
I like that we can participate just one day a week and still have fun learning a new sport.
I wish some of the sessions were longer. For example, six weeks is very short to learn and improve on a new sport. Also, considering the coaches are volunteers the price seems a little high for such short sessions. When there is more than one child in the family participating it gets expensive very fast.
