I love that the kids are able to play and learn. The focus is not on winning but giving everyone an opportunity to learn sportsmanship, goal setting and the importance of social skills and problem sloving while being on a team.
Staff was AMAZING! I did not expect such great interaction with the kids!
I don't think the i9 format is for everyone but for us, it was perfect. My kiddo loved that he was playing baseball 'Sandlot' style...in that he played and practiced with the same kids he played the game with and against!
Giving out the Sportsmanship Award weekly was great for all the kids and felt more special than everyone getting a medal at the end of the 'season'
We plan to sign up for another session
Love the set up, the casualness with the kids, it is a great way to introduce children to sports. Plus the practice and game on the same day, not a huge time commitment.
Thank you for all your hard work on this program.
This year coach Jay for the Strikers soccer team in zona rosa was absolutely amazing. Otherwise i love the layout of a practice and a game every week. We've had a great experience with the I9 staff.
My son does the multi sport, I love that it’s different sports since he’s so young he can learn all of them. I wish it was longer though. 7 weeks is a short time span. Also I didn’t love that all the parents were out in the fields when the kids run around. I get they need to help direct the kids as they don’t quite know what there doing but sometimes it’s not an excessive. Maybe have two coaches to help direct the kids when they split into teams. And have parents help warn up. But when they were playing soccer and football it was just a little much. Too many parents out of the field. Other than that I love it and my son loves it.
I liked the amount of attention given to all the kids. And the positive attitude and energy. It was my son’s first year playing flag football and he is a kind and shy little guy. So it really helped him to get out and play with kids his age. He has older siblings but they are girls. I also really liked the outdoor field we had the practices at.
I loved that practice was right before games so it was easy to schedule around. I do wish the shoal creek field was more accessible though. It is a horrible spot for small children and elderly people to watch games.
How organized everything is!
Our kids haven’t received medals yet for this season. I’m not sure if there’s plans for that from their coach or not but I thought one was supposed to be handed out each game for representing that weeks theme.
I know there is also usually a follow up email asking for parents to volunteer to coach, but I think coaches make a huge difference on whether or not a child wants to continue with the season. Especially with the younger kids it should be really fun and encouraging.
My son enjoyed his experience playing soccer through you alls organization! He does look forward to playing again and possibly trying another sport! Hugh thanks for providing this opportunity and fun experience for him!
This is our first year and we love I9! As kids get older it gets harder and harder to find leagues that will simply teach them how to play. My kid doesn't care about high stakes competition. She just wants to try new things, learn new skills, and be active with peers.
I like that she can explore a new sport in a comfortable environment. The coaches make the kids feel really confident about the things they're doing well and gently encourage them to try again when they need more practice. I'm confident that if she decides she wants to play in a faster paced league next year she will have learned what she needs to know from I9.
The online system for signup/ongoing management is great. The single timeslot each week for practice/games is convenient and reasonable for kids starting out in sports. The actual facilities and day-of setup and everything is fun, safe and works well. It's been everything we needed/wanted from a kids sports league.
I love the cost, the experience that kids get to just play without pressure of competition. The games are fast, the schedule is convenient, and it's easy to become a coach which helps offset the cost of the program.
