We really like Coach Rueben Ferguson for our flag football experience for our son. He seems to have the knowledge, experience, and natural talent in working with kids and coaching. The only thing that didn’t go as smoothly was not knowing if there was going to be a team until about a week before the season started due to lack of coaches. We also had to be moved to Mill Creek location. Due to awesome coach, we wouldn’t mind signing up again at Mill Creek to be with Coach Rueben.
Love the principle of i9! As a coach of the pee wee flag football, two pieces of feedback:
1. Would be nice to have extra cones for our practices. This is something that was communicated to be available but they are not out on the field.
2. For the pee wee age group, would be better to have the velcro flag belts. Those kids are not able to do their own clip belts, so as a coach, it feels like a full time job to go and admin everyones belts. It also keeps kids waiting and stalls games to go constantly adjust everyones belts.
The coaches are patient, fun, and encouraging. The program offers alot of different aspects that teach the lessons of team work, friendships, and how to celebrate the losses, and the wins, in a positive way.
I like how it's parent involved and weekly on the weekends with other options available. It's a great way to introduce your little one to different sports. Such great support from the coaches especially on the field. Looking forward to trying out other sports.
Highly recommend! My sons had 4-5 season with i9 since he was four and it’s been great. A greater starter program and it nicely builds up. We have no trouble in being on the same team as our good family friend and the fields are always quality! My son is 7 now and is in the league where goalies are there and I think it would be beneficial for volunteer coaches to know about that position before practices or the season starts. If there’s something they can watch.
I also think there should be an option to reuse an i9 jersey! I have about 5 now and it seems a bit wasteful.
I truly like how drills and skills are email to coaches. That is very helpful as I've been in other leagues where there's no support. I like how the company supports its coaches.
It's been a great introductory program to test out new/different sports. Gets them eased into the team sport aspect and structure. We love the practice then game structure, keeps them focused on learning the skills and implementing them back to back. Plus just easier on parents to have one day a week of the sport instead of two :)
I like the convenience of having practice and games on the same day. With busy schedules it's hard to carve out time during the week for practice and then have games on the weekends.
