I love Aveda. I would recommend an Aveda salon to everyone. There is an expectation at an Aveda salon and I know that comes with a little extra cost. I have been going to James Salon for a few years now, and I definitely know the levels of experience means it will cost more. And when I was offered to have James cut my hair, I was really excited. I thought it would be cool to have the guy who has the name on the building cut my hair. I also knew that there would be a little extra cost. And it was amazing, he did an amazing job. I really enjoy my haircut, it is perfect. I think my only complaint is that I wasn't told the price at any time, until the very end when I was about to leave... had I been told the cost upfront, I am not sure I would of had him cut my hair. I tossed and turned wanting to write this review because I really enjoy Aveda and that salon. I guess I would like them to be more upfront about the pricing so that I can be more prepared for the cost. I understand $50-$80 for an Aveda haircut, but $140 +tip for a basic wash, cut, and haircut (even if I had 6ish inches cut off) is pretty steep. I will still go to James salon, I still love Aveda.. Just being a little more up front about the cost instead of the shock at the end. Would be appreciated.
