This is my favorite YMCA location in Columbus (and I've tried 5 or 6!). I like that it's smaller and less crowded. But the best feature is the sauna, and I like that there are separate ones in the locker rooms. This location also has a hot tub and indoor pool, which not a lot of the others have. Plus the outdoor pool! I know it's an old building, but it's a good vibe.

I would certainly recommend the Garver Y- if it were not closing. It was a great value, and the only gym in offering aquatics, barbells, and saunas. Its closing shuts out an entire community on the south east side. It cannot be replaced other branches because the infrastructure is too much to navigate during busy traffic southeast of Columbus. I only hope that the y builds a new, and similar location, that is easy to navigate to during rush hour times, and includes a saunas. Or a competitor.

The people and the pool are fantastic. I am beyond disappointed that the YMCA is abandoning this neighborhood and moving the resources to Columbus State and Delaware - both of which have far more resources than the East side. I joined the YMCA instead of a private gym specifically because of its mission to communities like those around Garver. However with this closure, I am reconsidering membership since the Central Ohio board appears to be no different than the private gyms chasing money. Reynoldsburg cannot accommodate the pool traffic from Garver and is too far for those in the community without transportation. Garver will be missed!

It’s close to home. Sad it’s closing but I understand because having such a short amount of opportunity for child watch makes it hard. But I do enjoy the space for what it is.

Our family has had our membership for over 15 years and love the location and amenities however we are truly disappointed with the notice of closure. Unfortunately once closed we will be canceling our longstanding membership. The Reynoldsburg location is not close for this side of town when you factor in the ever growing traffic. The community is really taking a loss with the closure of Garver

It is a super convenient location, a 3 minute drive. The machines all have places to put books, or tablets, to read or watch something while using them, something other Ys in the area do not have. The staff is always super friendly and polite.
