Amanda was very thorough, polite, and answered questions promptly. Her preliminary loan estimates were very accurate so I had no surprises when I received the final closing documents. I subtracted 0.5 points because sometimes it seemed she sent more emails than needed, so my actual score would be 9.5, but I could only choose 9.
I live on the west coast and when I had questions she emailed quickly or checked with other departments for answers and quickly relayed the information to me, even if it was 7 or 8 pm in MI. I would recommend her to anyone looking to buy RE in the Ann Arbor and SE Michigan area.
The following comments have nothing to do with Amanda, but I want to submit them to John Adams or Staunton Financial. I was very irked when I read the particulars of the Halcyon agreement in my RE loan application. 2 points bothered me. 1. I was asked to give permission to let a third party see my tax returns in "perpetuity." 2. The Halcyon document says "If you consent to the use and disclosure of your personal financial information, federal law may not protect your information from further use or distribution."
Huh? Why do you need to see my tax returns if the loan is paid off? That's what perpetuity means to me. If I give consent, who knows how many other third parties can ask for this information and I have no federal laws to protect me.
When I tried to skip this part I could not finish the loan application. Amanda admirably found a quick solution for this issue. However, final closing papers once again contained the Halcyon consent with "in perpetuity" language.
I think that consent form should be redone. Once the loan is paid in full or property sold that should be the end of any Halcyon consent.
