The group that loaded our belongings were great, and took good care of everything. I cannot imagine that our experience could have been better than what we received. From our perspective, Jim Mayton, Sales Manager and Estimator was the key. Kudos to Johnson Storage for having such a capable, friendly, knowledgeable professional to work with us, and for having such capable crews backing him up. Jim Mayton was astounding in every respect. When we first met for an estimate, he was cordial and professional. He carefully detailed every room's content and talked us through how items would be handled - both about packaging and loading on the truck, then about delivering and unloading. Next, we had concerns about timing of delivery because of proximity to Christmas. Jim worked with other members of Johnson Storage - from the president to warehouse supervisors to the potential drivers. He was able to arrange things so as to make delivery before Christmas as close to a certainty as can be done. We asked for a very difficult task, and it required an extraordinary effort, and Jim came through. To wit, Jim was up front with us about delivery: we were told that there cannot be guarantees regarding specific delivery times because weather, traffic and accidents are out of anybody's control, and we understood that. So, while he set our expectations, he did everything possible to minimize this and it worked for us. In addition, we lived on a tight cul-de-sac where a moving van could not fit, and Jim made the arrangements to have contents shuttled from our house to the truck. While packing and loading, Jim came to our house to make sure all was going smoothly. Then, during and after delivery, Jim kept in touch with us by phone. He checked in with us during the delivery, then while truck was being unloaded, and finally after all was finished. After finishing, he then advised us on how we can dispose of the boxes, and how to handle reimbursement, should any items be found damaged. Regarding packing and loading truck at our old home, we found the packagers and loaders to pleasant, hard-working, and fast yet extremely careful (they generously wrapped all items with plenty of packing paper). We experienced the same upon delivery. All workers were pleasant, very engaging - asking us where to put each box (an entire truckload full) and dealing with our requested changes to box and furniture location with up-beat pleasure. All were very cognizant of corners and doorways, moving through and around with care. In our new house, we have three floors, so negotiating stairs was required. Also, our furniture and boxed items were often quite heavy. I was amazed at how capable each crew member was at handling each item, navigating three levels of placements. Our move was, in our opinion, a large, difficult one - both in size and distance (across-country move). Johnson did an outstanding job in every respect. Finally, Jim Mayton went above and beyond our expectations in every way. Thank you, Jim! And thank you Johnson Storage. We certainly recommend you to everyone looking to move.
