My wife and I are brand new members and have only been three times. We swam some laps, sharing a lane for we were not practicing any truly know stroke, just swimming and a bit of outdoor pool time (and Slide!). Next day we tried the Sunday Yoga and today, Tuesday, I did the Aqua Fitness (Shallow). While I'm trying to find the right fit and schedule for myself, we have thus far very much enjoyed the classes and especially the renovated facility, new machines, friendly staff.
Thank you,

Pleasant, clean enviroment. I like the prayer room and the pickleball and my wife likes the body pump class and the lap pool.
Locker rooms are great.

Well, the Lake Highlands Y has some nice features that many people would enjoy. These include, not necessarily in any order:
- A very friendly staff
- Equipment and floors are clean
- Many new pieces of work out equipment
- Austin Cooper offers great personal workouts
- Tai Chi Class is good for everyone
- If you want it, the Y has it
Facility is lovely. Wish the group exercise classes would be changed up occasionally. Spin is not being taught by live instructors enough. Some morning classes such as Monday 9:30 HIIT and Thursday 9:30 Pilates need music change. In general instructors need a variety of playlists. They should be alternating weekly.
I primarily use the exercise machines and they are new and efficient and plentiful. I also find the front desk team friendly and welcoming.
I do have one complaint and will share it here: There are too many people talking on their cell phones during their workouts -- and speaking at full volume. I have been a member for three years and there has been an exponential number of women (primarily) not being conscientious about this. I would appreciate your including a message in an upcoming Y email reminding members that there should be no cell phone talking on the floor. Or see if the fitness staff can remind them to stop. People can step off the machines and sit in the front area to talk instead.
I appreciate this consideration and keep up the great work otherwise.
