The staff are hard working and caring. They truly care for toddlers, youth and senior citizens; everyone who comes through the door. I've visited other Y locations, and the Leeward Y is the BEST!! Thank You!!
Erin the receptionist greeted me like I was her own family from the very start to now ……. Always smiling and friendly to all (need more employees like her, she deserves a raise!)
Everything! My husband and I get to workout while we have our two kids in child watch. Such a blessing! They also get to swim during family time hours. We love the YMCA!
Most of the staff and instructors are very friendly and helpful.
My only concern is the male life guard in the evening. The last couple of times I was there for aqua Zumba, he didn't bother to turn on the lights around the pool (not sure if that is part of his job) so it was difficult to follow the instructor. Also, there were families and with small keiki trying to swim which, I thought was dangerous especially for the keiki. Also, when there is a specific female lifegaurd who I believe is off the clock, he is too busy flirting/talking story with her and almost always has his back to the pool
Everyday I go there, I am so happy of the variety of wellness options that they have to offer, including but not limited to swimming, strength training and work out classes. Of course the air conditioned facility is definitely a plus in the Waipahu heat. I also cannot leave out the unparalled fellowship that one develops.
On a side note, though I am glad they offer cable channels, I continue to wait patiently until the stations/shows correlate to the channels on the screen.
