I really appreciate the friendly staff, the strong sense of community, and the clean environment—especially in the mornings. It makes working out here a positive experience.
One area that needs attention is cell phone use on equipment. Some members sit on machines for extended periods between sets while watching videos, texting, or chatting on their phones while others are waiting. This is frustrating, especially in the mornings when many of us are trying to complete our workouts efficiently before work.
It would be helpful to have clear guidelines or reminders encouraging members to be mindful of others and avoid prolonged phone use while occupying equipment.
I went to my first AOA class this week and was wowed. It’s scheduled best workout I’ve found since moving here 6 months ago. The instructor Shannon was easy to follow and engaging also the staff at the front desk were readily available to answer questions. I will be a regular at Shannon’s class and explore other exercise programs
I suggest the YMCA Liberty Township/Powell location often to friends and family. We have a special needs daughter, and I noticed from the 1st visit that it was a very inviting place for her population, and I was not wrong. Each week, she looks forward to seeing the friendly faces of staff and has made several friends with other attendees. The facility is well-maintained, and there are plenty of opportunities to be engaged.
I haven't been a member very long, but everyone there has been very welcoming from the staff on down to the members. It's very clean, and they provide an orientation, if you schedule it, and go over all of their programs and even walk you through using some of the equipment.
We enjoy the Y and it is an excellent place to meet people of all ages. As senior citizens we are amazed by the friendly staff and encouragement we get from people of all ages.
