What I like is that It is not just a “program”. From the directors to each teacher and co teacher and helper, everyone put their heart and love into my child. They made me feel like family, knew who I was, spent time getting to know my child and she wasn’t just a number or a dollar sign like the other day cares. She was nurtured and challenged and loved and we could not have asked for a better experience.
I like that there is learning going on disguised as fun games. The educators are friendly and knowledgeable. I also like the mindful yoga in the beginning of the day.
Hands on activities, short period of screen time, and amazing staff. Keshauna Brown is amazing and wonderful with the kids. She is patient, caring, attentive and innovative. Thank you
First, our son has completed exactly 3 years at LightBridge Academy. He started as an almost 5 month old.
The most important thing is that all the kids are treated like individual little humans, and not just a number.
We’re pretty busy so I will simply list our favorite aspects:
- Miss Jo and Miss Debbie. When you meet them you’ll know why. They do the admin part but Miss Jo is our son’s day shift mama. He’s always felt safe in that admin office.
- Learning sign language prevented so many upset moments and tantrums. We have family who have kids the same age and not in daycare so it was helpful to see the difference. In addition to ASL they also learn basic Spanish.
-Ms. Rose is so calm and gentle with the infants I swear it rubs off on them.
-Ms Brenda, Ms Kashana, Ms Mariana, Ms Nana, Ms Kristy, Ms Emily, Mr Cam, Ms Amanda, and so many other of the teachers are just brilliant with the kids, each in their own way. My son has never felt anything but loved, and they’re all trained in the best communication styles so the children listen to them in a positive way. My son talks about how he can’t wait to tell his teachers about his weekend. It’s impressive how positive reinforcing and stickers can get toddlers to listen to directions.
- We have a family friend who is a childhood psychology major. From her assessments our son is above average cognitively, and I’m sure that’s in great part due to these teachers.
-It's incredibly scary these days to entrust your child to a stranger. For us, that was even harder because our son is a miracle baby, and we had to put him in daycare during Covid. Beyond the constant communication on the app and video, we’ve always felt at ease knowing our son is being well taken care of. Every question/concern is answered and taken care of quickly and respectfully.
My son has asthma, we both work full time, and my family is on the other side of the hemisphere. The staff at LightBridge Academy has become the village I was missing. So much so, that I drive from the north shore all the way to Baldwin, then back up to the middle of the island every single day. They’re worth it.
Our daughter is learning so much!
At 3 years old she can count past twenty, is social and has a great vocabulary.
We love the teachers and directors. Especially Emily, Emma, Jo and Debbie.
