Communication via the app (daily status updates) have been great.
Other communication (such as responding to emails/messages in app or in-person feedback) has been disappointing. There have been several instances where my wife and I have felt ghosted in our emails/messages through the website. Another in-person example of lack of communication: our son cam home in new pants without underwear. I was shocked that this wasn't communicated with the parents.
I have high confidence in the teachers abilities, the staff is extremely friendly, the facility is great, and the learning plans/activities have been an overall hit our our son.
We had a positive experience. They have wonderful and caring staff. My daughter loves her teachers and friends there. It helped her grow and be more social as well. I highly recommmed!
I loved the 3 different outdoor play options.
The facility was very clean and organized.
I thought the handouts and professionalism that came with the tour were a nice touch.
I can see and feel that my son has been really taken care of by his teachers and every one! He always comes home very happy and he learns a lot from Lightbridge! I am very grateful to all the teachers and staff.
We particularly appreciate how all the staff learn every child's name and always greet us on the way in or out. We feel like our kids are genuinely cared for, and any time we've had any concerns both teachers and administration have been very responsive and have worked with us to find solutions! Our kids love coming to Lightbridge Academy!
Staff revolving door and unstructured kids days. So their classroom time is not really organized for an academy standards and for what the parents are paying for.
We had high hopes when we first started at Lightbridge that it would be a good fit for our special needs son. He seemed to thrive off the bat, and we were promised good communication about his day to day and any challenges that were occurring. However after a couple months there, we found out through a stressed out moment between the teacher and our county aide that problems were occurring that we were not being alerted to. Only when I confronted the front office with what happened did they own up to this, and then decided the right course of action was to have four employees meet with me and my husband to tell us things we had never heard prior to this point, and asking our son to leave the school. Speaking with our aide who is in the classroom weekly, the things they described for the most part were not occurring as described (i.e. they were exaggerating some of the behaviors). The school itself was clearly having resource issues (many instances of messages going out to parents asking to keep their children home because of staffing shortages). Regardless of this last meeting, due to the disrespect we encountered we had decided to pull our child. I would only reccommend this school to parents of well/"normal" behaved children since they clearly don't have the resources to handle otherwise, and caution them about the lack of communication we experienced. I realize this isn't everyone's experience and many people love the school, but we were not impressed and felt disrespected.
I am deeply concerned to inform you that my children were subjected to physical discipline by their teacher. As a result, I made the decision to immediately disenroll them from the school. The safety and well-being of my children are my top priority, and I believe this situation warrants further attention. I am considering taking appropriate steps to ensure this matter is addressed properly.
Infant rooms through 24 months have wonderful teachers. However, the curriculum and supplies for the rooms is significantly lacking. There is instability of teachers in general, but especially the older rooms. There is also a lack of teachers/aids so that the admin is not available to do their job as they are in the rooms acting as teachers. We were promised teachers with bachelors and associates degrees, but the center is struggling to even hire lead qualified teachers, let alone teachers with an education background.
What can you do? Hire teachers with an educational background. Hire teachers with nurturing personalities who clearly want to work with young children. Purchase supplies so the kids have new toys and teachers have what they need to implement a curriculum.
The activities listed on the app are not being completed. I feel I am paying lightbridge pricing for a babysitter when it should be preschool.
Having sound on the cameras for directors needs to be considered. Staff in classroom need to be monitored on their teachings with children. How are classroom observations by directors completed if there is no sound on the cameras? I don’t expect to have sound as a parent, I feel directors should.
It took 3 months to get my child’s cubby labeled.
Lightbridge is a place which truly cares for your kid and collaborates with parents to ensure growth. They have quite a lot of planned activities throughout the week that keeps kids fully engaged. The live camera option gives peace of mind to all those worrying parents like me. All the staff I encountered in Lightbridge had been super friendly, honest and passionate. I just wish they had more timing options like half day (9-12) or school day (9-3) rather than just full day but apart from that, all in all it’s a great facility and a great preschool with amazing staff. May they continue to maintain their prestige and get better over the years.
The teachers are amazing! I feel like my child is in great hands. I love the communication and pictures throughout the day. It helps me focus knowing that my child is so well cared for.
I wish I had better feedback at this time.
I am disappointed. We began at the center Dec 2023 and made it to about August 2024 with little issues. Once August 2024 hit, issues began getting out of control.
The school we were presented with to have bachelor level teachers with children is not what we have. We have teachers that do not meet the needs of the kids socially, emotionally, nor educationally. I have heard teachers yell and scream at the kids and get easily frustrated and complain they only make $17 an hour.
This past Friday, I had to send a message as a teacher propped an iPad in front of 10+ toddlers to watch- this is just unacceptable. There should be no screen time for a toddler- it’s just laziness.
There are 100 other ways to keep toddlers entertained other than putting an iPad in their face. Read a book, use the iPad to play songs, not for them to watch. There is a lightbridge app that has the daily learning activities and it’s very rare these activities are completed. I call what we are receiving at this time, glorified babysitting at most.
At this time, I have my 25 month old in a classroom with a teacher that has expressed they don’t pick the children up/ hug for comfort as needed. This is just mind blowing. I’m not asking for my child to be held all day but if they are crying and need a hug, this is needed.
There are staff that do not understand basic child development which is concerning. The classrooms are not decorated with family photos , birthdays, kids art.
Safety is a large issues as well with having staff that were not cleared by licensing / doors propped open to outside. In the short time we have been at LBA, we have received more than 3 messages to come pick our child up due to lack of staffing.
So at this time, I unfortunately cannot recommend the center to other families. I did get a family to enroll and I am honest embarrassed as they have had a pretty bad experience so far.
I like about that program. They have great teacher. My son have learned a lot of stuff there. I like how they treat my son. I like everything of them. I like how my son each day. He knows new things and he knows how to talk. He knows his color his numbers and I'm so grateful about that program.
We have been a part of the center since 2/2024. We were initially very happy. There were certainly some issues over the summer with the management of the older kids rooms, but they were ultimately rectified. However, over the past 4-6 weeks, the center has taken an unsatisfactory and disheartening turn with structure, communication, room supplies/setup, staffing, etc.
