I highly recommend Children’s Island! She comes home dirty, excited, happy, confident, and full of stories where she was able to take chances, have hands on learning opportunities, help others, and so much more.
The staff that work on the island have so much heart and enthusiasm for the experience they are sharing with the campers- making memories that will truly last a lifetime time. They set the standard, work along side the campers on their own island goals, and help the campers feel part of something bigger than “child care”- they feel part of a team, a family, and part of a place where everyone is still learning, experiencing, and working towards goals of trying their best.
Thank you Children’s Island! You have made an Island Girl for life! She can’t wait until the day she can become a CIT.
My son is a type 1 diabetic. There was no nurse one day. Scottie M, once again stepped up. Literally and figuratively put on a clinic taking care of my son's medical needs. It isn't his job but he handles it. I appreciate that. So should you
Children's Island Camp has been a wonderful experience. Our son Theo has learned so much, and has really bonded with his amazing counselors and all of the camp staff. We feel so lucky that it is available to us.
I absolutely love the full day nature program of children’s Island. It’s very difficult to find anything else like it in the general Boston/North Shore area. The camp and counselors do such a great job creating fun, theme related activities for the kids to do all week. I Love that the kids are outside for the entire day and can swim and play outside and truly explore nature.
Nice facilities. Always value how friendly the staff are when I arrive. Nice people. Convenient.
However, I will say some of the changes to the main workout room are frustrating. Placement of the ropes machines are worse than before and I wish they went back to their prior placements. I'm not sure why they removed one of the platforms near the cages, which are used for deadlift. I also think more can be done around cleaning the benches in the weight room, and the mats in the turf area.
But overall I enjoy the Y and think the people who work there are committed and kind.
