The atmosphere at the M E Lyons YMCA is very welcoming and I feel very at home there. I attend many of thevexcervise classes there each week. I’ve made quite a few friends there that have resulted in doing things together outside of class. The YMCA is my chosen community. I am retired and spend around 2 hours a day at the Y. I’d say outside of time with my family I spend quite a lot of my time, when I’m not at home, at the Y.
The water aerobics and their instructors are great!
We really need more room ((another lane, please) in the 10:00 classes, especially Megan Hartman’s on M, W & F.
Perhaps at the next session of morning swim lessons , the lessons could be moved to 11:00 on those days. That would still provide no reduction of lap lanes.
I don’t know about the programs and activities at this specific location. I know that the YMCA as a whole organization has a lot to offer and I participate in coaching opportunities and my child plays sports for Y teams at a different location. The biggest thing for me is being able to utilize any of the YMCA’s facilities regardless of my location or primary YMCA. I understand the payments and dues made to the YMCA I call my primary visit location are utilized to provide financial support to the programs and services offered for that location. But I like to be able to visit any location at my leisure. This location is very clean and the staff at the counter were beyond helpful and polite. This location looks like it has a lot to offer and is in a convenient location on Clough pike. Definitely a hidden gem I didn’t know about until I googled the closest YMCA. I would definitely recommend!
