The staff are phenomenal. They explained the options and made recommendations on what I would actually need based on my anticipated level of activity. They didn’t make me feel stupid even though I’m not an expert. Products so far (bike and pump) are working well! I expect to come back for more supplies (lights and maybe apparel) and plan to bring my bike here regularly for maintenance. If anyone asks for a bike recommendation in Madison or surrounding areas, machinery row will be my solid recommendation.

I’ve been a customer for twenty years or more. I’ve bought all my bikes here and come here for servicing. Always get treated well. Bikes last and hold together. Repairs are accomplished while consulting and advising me so I get the best equipment I can afford. Also I get informed about what to expect in the near and long term so I can do preventive maintenance. In particular I have to mention Derek, a person in the service department of machinery row bicycles in Madison Wi. A great diagnostician, advisor and technician. The best in the business as far as I’m concerned.

The staff at Machinery Row Bicycles could not be more friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, or efficient. I brought my little granddaughter’s wonderful Trex bike in for tire service and a good going-over, as well as to make sure my bicycle tire pump operated correctly. Unexectedly, it turned out her bike needed a new cable and one of the gear mechanisms needed adjusting. I thought I would have a long wait as customers flowed into the building in a steady stream -- but — to my surprise, the tires were properly inflated, the gear mechanisms, brakes, etc. checked, and the new cable installed in less than 20 minutes. As always, I believe that Machinery Row Bicycles offers the most competent, friendly service in the Madison area. I would, however, strongly suggest that a few chairs be readily available in the entrance area for those of us who need to wait for a bit for our service to be completed! I was fortunate in that the fellow at the checkout desk was able to bring out a folding metal chair for me.
