I attend morning group exercise classes with Becki, Michelle, Amy, and Marilee. They each make the classes enjoyable. I have expanded my social network by attending these sessions and interacting with both the participants and the instructors.
What I like best is that it is free with my Medicare Advantage plan. Also, most all of the attendees of the classes I’ve gone to are also senior citizens and everyone is so friendly, including the staff.
Great classes for seasoned members! I feel like staff and many of the members are my community. I feel encouraged to get exercise and movement in amongst others in a fun way.
How connected I feel: the Y is more than just a gym. It's like that good neighbor or family you like. They help keep you accountable because you want to spend time there. It's hard to leave in a bad mood!
I like the casual fun atmosphere of practice and games. My kids are encouraged to try their best . I like the low commitment level of one practice and one game a week,
It's a good community full of supportive coaches, players, and parents. The culture emphasizes recreation and sportsmanship. In 3 years, I haven't seen a single incident where parents are openly criticizing or confronting a referee.
I love watching my child enjoy the variety of sports offered through the YMCA. She makes new friends and gains confidence in herself while playing on the team. She learns new skills and has a good time while do so.
