People always treat me with kindness and respect. This is the neighborhood that I grew up in so of course the Benson why is the first one I went to I go to some of the other wise, but this one always seems my home..
The program Silver Sneekers, is so right for me! It’s not too fast, nor is it too much for my body to handle! I in fact feel rejuvenated when the class has ended!
This YMCA location is very inclusive! I have several special needs children and they are allowed to participate in any and all activities they choose. Some things may be harder for my kids, but the Y has come alongside them and offered extra support so they can participate. My kids are able to observe a class and not be told to leave because they are making others uncomfortable!
I have a Y location much closer to my home, but my family and children are treated differently. They have been asked not to participate in activities, to stop observing classes to see if they want to join in the next time. Maple Street was our YMCA for many years, and we didn't mind the drive, because my kids always felt safe, loved and included. We started to attend our local Y and we were not welcomed like you do there. We came back to where my family feels safe, loved and accepted.
Great Job!!
I broke my hip about 18 months ago and was looking for an exercise routine that would help me continue to recover so when a friend showed me the range of exercise classes I decided I would have to try it. I'm taking the silver sneaker circuit and low impact cardio classes and they really are making a difference, and it doesn't hurt that everyone in these classes are friendly and helpful.
The instructors and the other members. The newer facilities are beautiful but I go to Downtown and Maple. Pushing for these facilities to get done live too
