My whole family loves the Y! Our daughters talk us into working out so they can enjoy Y Play then we all enjoy the outdoor pools!

Love this Y! The pool is awesome! So are the staff and members! It's close to my work and it gives me a place where I can go if I can't drive all the way home.

I have made wonderful friends here in the Senior program. Not just exercise, but free painting, bingo, sitting yoga, crafts, lunches out, and bus tours.

The adult swim lessons have been amazing. After two sessions I am able to swim laps with a flotation device, and I really believe I'll be able to swim freestyle by the end. I'm so excited!

We are a military family and was able to join for the summer while visiting our family. Each location was clean and had many classes and activities for little ones. Plus, the pools were clean and so much fun.

I’ve been coming to Margaret Maddox off and on, as my work schedule permitted, since I joined in 2017. In September of 2024, I became very ill and could not work. I was on medical leave until January 2025 and ultimately resigned from my high-stress job because of its impacts on my mental and physical health. During that painful time period while I healed - fall 2024 through spring 2025 - the Y was there for me. I started taking Basic Yoga classes with Christine to build up my strength. Her classes are very popular; I was grateful to have a spot on the floor. Soon, I began taking Alicia’s Vinyasa class, William’s Heated Yoga Flow, Jenny’s Power Yoga, and finally — I’m proud to say I made it through Danny’s Advanced Vinyasa class several times. And Chris’s Iyengar class has truly been a lifesaver for me. Next, I added back in some Bodypump classes with Bridgett, Sarah, Charturrah, and Grace. In addition to physical weakness, my illness made it difficult to speak and interact with people. But everyone was friendly. I felt welcome day after day, despite probably seeming weird or aloof to others. I’m forever grateful to the Y and all of these awesome instructors for being there when I needed them most.

It was a good experience. The teachers were a bit young and a tad aloof for my liking but probably perfectly age-appropriate for such young students and great opportunity for the young person teaching to get better at it. Thanks for having us.
