Everything but mostly the inclusivity. Recently I had a friend joined in after visiting and seen all of the inclusive members and mostly the students. As retired special educators that is a big big positive reason to be a member. Love the students and classes in the building.
I like the joy and friendliness of people who workout there and staff. It has most equipment serious lifters need and wait times are minimal if at all. I would like to see a few more benches in the stretching area for utilization and some small tables throughout for people to set phones , water , etc on at times.
I’ve really been looking forward to this survey. Overall, I’m very happy with the YMCA and truly appreciate the work that goes into maintaining such a great facility.
The addition of the EGYM equipment has been fantastic. My whole family is now using it, and I think it’s been a very valuable enhancement to the Y’s offerings.
I do have a few suggestions that might help improve the experience even further:
It would be helpful to have a few signs near the EGYM area encouraging members to start at the beginning of the circuit and not jump in mid-way, even if there’s an open station. Once the flow gets disrupted, it can throw off the entire experience.
I’d also love to know if there’s someone on staff who could help members better understand the EGYM app. I feel like I’m not fully using all of its features and potential benefits.
From a facility standpoint, everything is generally very clean and well cared for, which I really appreciate. One small item: after the winter months, there tends to be a buildup of dirt and grit at the bottom of the men’s lockers. A periodic deep clean or mopping of the locker bases might help keep things feeling fresh.
Lastly, a minor concern in the basketball area. I’ve noticed some young adults using the court without proper footwear, such as Crocs, flip-flops, or even hard-soled shoes. I know the floor was redone not too long ago, and it would be great to see that investment protected. There used to be signage about appropriate footwear, and it might be worth reinforcing that again. This seems to be a small group, but noticeable.
Again, I think the Y is doing a great job overall. These are just a few small suggestions to make an already positive experience even better.
Thank you for all you do.
Staff is willing to help and answer questions. Everyone is patient and professional. The locker rooms are kept up. It feels secure and safe. There are activities offered for my little toddler and for the elderly as well as everyone in between. It's a great location. Parking is usually ample. Thanks for being welcoming and communicative.
