Claudia has completely changed my impression of this place. She communicates, is proactive and really seems to care. Also, we only had one bad experience with a tutor. The rest have been kind and capable.
Our daughter’s growth in math this school year is incredible! Thanks to Mathnasium, she feels more confident and equipped to handle difficult questions, and she doesn’t give up as easily when challenged.
When we started mathnasium at the begging of the school year, our daughter was below grade level and now she is at grade level, loves math and is moving on to the next level of math. I am incredibly grateful to the teachers and the staff at mathnasium, they are friendly and very communicative with regards to my daughters progress. They are also, open to all of my questions and willing to adjust my daughters tutoring for any concerns I may have regarding her school work.
We had a very positive experience just last week actually they were closed for spring break, and my daughter‘s spring break is actually offset with the district by us. They were super responsive reached right back out to us helped us handle my daughter’s stress of math for the week and got us an online tutoring session. No questions asked it was an amazing experience took the stress out of our week for sure.
Mathnasium provides small group tutoring support and homework suggestions. The staff is friendly and reaches out with feedback. They provide reinforcement incentives and skill assessments.
My child had always found math easy. So it wasn't a shock when he was placed into the accelerated math in the 6th grade. What was a shock was how his performance and grades went down significantly. To the point where we were asked to consider placing him in a regular math class. After discussion with our child, we decided to give Mathnasium a try. With their assistance, he's able to self identify areas where he's struggling and seeks help from his tutors. He also consistently gets higher scores in his accelerated courses and is doing work in Mathnasium that is beyond what he is doing in school, further setting up the building blocks for him to succeed in the future.
We
Could not be happier with the curriculum and the guidance we have received from the team. We have seen our daughter grow in her confidence and her understanding in mathematics during her time at Mathnasium. Her STAR testing scores went from the 50th percentile to the 90th in under a year
When Liana started tutoring a little over a year ago, they were so scared of doing it. For so long, they'd been left behind by teachers and their school. No one bothered to help them, and when I tried to do so, it was nothing but screaming matches. Liana genuinely believed that they would never understand math, that they disappointed me, and between not being able to keep up in class and the neverending bullying, Liana absolutely and unequivocally hated school.
The very first tutoring session Liana had, they were all smiles when they came back out to the car, screaming, "MOM! I DID MATH!" Liana was in the 5th grade at this time and, for the first time ever, was able to add single digit numbers. They'd never been able to do that before. 2+2 was a struggle and always ended in tears, and here was this kid coming out and telling me they were able to do this thing that was so impossible for them.
It kept going after that. Liana was excited for tutoring, but not just tutoring, they were excited for math. They loved coming out to the car and telling me all they learned and how much they got done and asking me to ask them math questions. They can do mental math now! MENTAL MATH! In just a few months, Mathnasium took this small kid who was so miserable about math, who couldn't do even the most basic of questions or add on their fingers, and now six months after they started, they were doing two and three digit addition in their head! Liana had been able to do math the whole time--but having people that could support their needs and give them individualized attention was so important.
When Liana went to 6th grade, they went to a brand new school instead of the middle school all the kids in her elementary went to. It was a fresh start, but I admit, I was worried. I thought maybe being in a new school would set them back. And while we still have work to do when it comes to taking tests (this being a test issue, not a math issue), they excel at homework. Liana has a B in math! A B?! in MATH! But it's not just math. Liana is excelling at all their other classes, too. A tiny little thing like confidence in math had given them the chance to thrive and they don't have a grade lower than a C. They've never gotten a grade higher than a D- before.
While I'm disappointed that their elementary school failed them, no matter how much I begged them to help, no matter how much I begged for answers, I'm forever floored at how seriously Mathnasium took me. And not just that, but they never looked down on Liana. The owner of the Aurora, CO branch on our first meeting said that this was more common than I thought and that so many kids are struggling. And they knew just what to do.
Liana is so happy to do math now. They're still behind in tutoring where they are in school, but they understand the math they're learning in school. They're more willing to try. They have the tools and the ability to learn, all because someone finally listened.
Mathnasium is very accommodating and truly care about your complete understanding of the subject. They are fully committed to your way of learning and do their best to prepare you for upcoming tests.
My kiddo's gone from quite literally not knowing the basics to being able to do mental math--with multiple digit numbers!!! How could I not love this center? I never thought I'd see her actually want to do math, or feel good about it, but every day, she tells me all about what she learned and wants to review it on the way home. Mathnasium has literally given her confidence and knowledge and let her really believe, for the first time ever, that her dream of being an astrophysicist might actually be possible.
