I visited a couple of places to find the best fit for my daughter. Eric at Mathnasium was by far the most attentive and professional owner we met. He seemed to understand exactly what we wanted from tutoring, and expertly discussed a program that made sense for us.
After a month with Mathnasium, I remain a very happy customer. Eric and my daughter's tutor continue to impress me almost on a weekly basis.
On a final note, the grades are improving, but more importantly, she is just more comfortable with the subject.
I have had two kids in Mathnasium of Fremont for about a year now, starting in mid- sixth grade. They attend for one hour per session, twice a week. I have observed instruction several times. The tutor:student ratio is never greater than 2:1 from what I have seen. All students are there to learn, and are always on task. The tutors themselves appear to be of the "enthisastic but serious college student" type. They are also generally engaged with students. Two hours per week is a good pace- enough time invested to ensure growth while leaving enough leftover to attend to school and to pursue other interests.
Surprisingly, while the atmosphere is serious, both of my kids have told me how much they like Mathnasium. Because of their efforts, both have strengthened existing skills and have advanced into new ones. This has built their sense of success and self-confidence, and I think that's why they like these classes. At any rate, they are always eager to attend. It's also helping with learning in school, which reduces frustration at home.
All in all, I am very pleased with our family's investment in Mathnasium.
I have two seventh graders. When they got to middle school last year, we had a rude awakening when we realized just how lax their instruction has been, especially in 5th grade. A friend recommended Mathnasium and to keep them from slipping further behind, we signed up. After about 8 months, they're both past grade level, so they're making progress.
From what I've seen, all kids are always on task. The tutors are always focused on students. The only thing I wish is that kids could attend for more days, but the policy is to limit to two hours a week. I guess in their experience, more than that is counter-productive.
My daughter has been with Mathnasium for almost a year, and we have seen good results. She started below grade level, and is now ahead of her grade level. She had grown her confidence in her abilities which is a great win. We also like that she is able to get more focused help with customized path. There isn’t the additional homework outside the class, which usually adds stress for student and parent. Eric and the the staff here are helpful and flexible within reason. The only constructive feedback I have is for a patent portal to view students progress.
Mathnasium is our rock! It provides a stability and continuity when my husband or I are unable to help with math homework. Especially when there is a change from teacher to teacher, I can always count on Mathnasium to help support my son with any problems. The other plus side is that we kept him attending during the summer (other than when we were on vacation!) and that helped maintain his level of understanding. So yes, a 10 is solid!
Great experience. Our son has improved a lot after learning skills from here. Will definitely recommend this to folks. Regular progress and assessment results are shared with us and the curriculum is customized based on the results!
We love the Dedicated tutors and individual curriculum that is offered by Mathnasium. Mr Eric is always quick to respond and ready to help. My some love learning math here.
My daughter is very happy with the teachers and the program. She has already seen some improvements in her math skills. I would recommend this center to my friends and family.
Eric has been provided helpful guidance for many of us parents at Mathnasium. My daughter is taking to the structure and has seen improvements with her test scores.
Seen so much improvement in my child’s math learning and understanding of fundamentals. He is really enjoying learning every day. Teachers give personal attention and we get frequent progress report of our child.
My son has been going to Mathnesium since grade 1 and is now grade 5, he looks forward to each session, feels like he has math family , everyone there has nurtured his inherent interest in Math with such expertise, I am so glad I trusted Mathnesium with cultivating his interest in math
We have a great experience with Mathnasium. The tutors are very accommodating. even if our kid misses a class for some reason, they are flexible with make up classes. Thank you Mathnasium for providing such great help for our kid.
Eric is great in identify my daughter learning style. I see improvements on logic wise on my daughter, that she has ADD and has some learning disability in math.
