My kids love going. They really like Mike and Walter. The rewards system is a great concept. I was a skeptic at first but since coming to mathnasium my kids have come home with improved test scores and smiles on their faces!
We were delighted with our son's progression in math skills, attributed to summer math tutoring at the Mathnasium Needham location. Our son finished 3rd grade with a skill set in math below grade level. Summer math tutoring in Needham got him up to par with 3rd grade math, introduced math concepts to be learned in 4th grade, and kept his numerical fluency skills fresh throughout the summer.
My daughter and her friends attended Mathnasium to challenge them and keep them ahead of the curve. They loved working with young, smart tutor and enjoyed the whole experience. They also stayed confident and very ahead of the curve in math class!
My daughter, Olivia, was bored in her regular math class. Mathnasium has made the learning process fun again, given her new found confidence and improved her math skills. She is now a peer tutor at the middle school and is well positioned for success in high school.
I like that Mathnasium assesses my child independently from his school. They are able to fill in all the gaps, thereby strengthening his knowledge base and allowing him to feel more comfortable learning new concepts in school. I also like that he gets to do math for fun, without any pressure of someone evaluating him.
My daughter is loving her Mathnasium learning experience. She looks forward to being there 2 days a week. And most loves that she is mastering the skills she is learning and feeling so confident and ahead of the lessons at school! Thank you!
So far my son has not ever complained a single time about going to math after school two days a week - which is a huge accomplishment in my book for a 12 year old boy! He says it is helping him and that he likes the way concepts are explained to him at Mathnasium. Thank you!
myrtha has been incredibly communicative and flexible. We presented her with an unusual situation - three girls who wanted to get better at math. Rather than treating them according to her general practice, she met with them, understood their work habits/styles, and adjusted her usual recommendations. we are so grateful for the flexibility. Better yet, the girls are loving the experience.
The only problem now is that my other kids want to go too ! Thanks for keeping the kids turned on and excited by math!
