My daughter is finally starting to build confidence in math. She is still struggling with grade level material but has been making tremendous progress with remedial work. She started at Mathnasium disengaged in math, but now she is working towards goals and enjoying the program, which is also reflected in her classroom and school work :)
The staff is professional and courteous, and relates very well to students. My son had instructors that he enjoyed working with, who were kind and respectful of him, but firm and got him to do the work. The clear and consistent reward program is very effective. My child has difficulty focusing on math problems just because he has been told to, but he works very hard to get points through the reward program. And the spin wheel at the end of each session is the perfect inconsistent high payoff reward to keep him interested in going to tutoring often.
The assessment given at the beginning seemed spot on. Without me saying anything prior, it identified areas his teachers and I already knew he was behind in.
Mathnasium has changed the paradigm for learning Math in our household. I'm no longer getting ulcers trying to help my daughter with homework. She now "loves" math, is doing better than ever on her tests and likes going to Mathnasium. The experience has exceeded my expectations
We love Mathnasium and are very happy to have you open a new venue in San Anselmo. The regular school hours were challenging but do-able -- only one weekend day and closed on Fridays. The summer hours however, stink; especially for families who work full-time. Please consider adjusting from morning to afternoon hours on Monday and Friday as well as at least one weekend! Thank you.
