I recently purchased a Santa Cruz Blur from Mike’s Bikes in Petaluma, which is the second bike I’ve purchased from them in the last three years. Overall, I’ve had an excellent experience with the staff, and the overall customer service. In this case, I was looking for a full suspension mountain bike and had been out of the market for a long time. Given the changes in the market, I needed help understanding which bike was appropriate for my riding. I have to express appreciation to Garrett for doing such an excellent job in helping me find the right bike for me. Between working with Garrett and Kip, it felt like there was a strong desire to ensure that I was on the right bike, and not to just send me out the door with whatever fit my budget. I test rode three Santa Cruz models, and I chose the Blur TR, which Garrett had predicted would be my choice, over the longer travel Tallboy and Hightower. A day after the purchase, I took the Blur on its first ride at sunrise at Helen Putnam Park, and was absolutely thrilled. I’ve never ridden so fast on trails, and I feel like the Blur is exactly what I need, nothing less, nothing more. Thanks to the staff at Mike’s Bikes for giving me the sound advice I needed to make this significant investment with confidence.
