What I like most about Mole Hill Bikes is the people and the way they treat their customers. You can tell they actually know what they’re doing, and they’re willing to take the time to answer questions and help you figure out what makes the most sense for you instead of just trying to sell you something. I also think it’s pretty cool that they’ve been around since 1986. Forty years is a long time for any business, especially a local bike shop. To me, that says a lot about the kind of reputation they’ve built in the community and the fact that people keep coming back. I’ve really appreciated how helpful and down-to-earth everyone has been. If I have a question about my bike or need something done, I don’t feel like I’m bothering anyone. They actually listen, explain things, and make sure I understand what I’m getting. I also like being able to support a local, family-owned business. There are plenty of places where you can buy bike stuff, but having a shop nearby where you can actually talk to someone who knows bikes and cares about getting you taken care of is a big deal. The products are great, but honestly, it’s the customer service and the people that make Mole Hill Bikes stand out to me. After 40 years, they’re obviously doing something right.

Friendly, Helpful and Knowledgeable. That's how I would describe the guys at Mole Hill Bikes in Dayton, VA. Add to that a great little shop packed with all different kinds of bikes, gear and clothes. My wife and I drove over from Powhatan, VA Saturday morning because they had the Liv Devote in her size. Only minutes after we got there she was on a test ride. When I asked if they could swap out the wheels for a set I had brought with us they said they were happy to do it if time allowed. Wheels were swapped and after another quick test ride we were ready to go. These guys are the defintion of the traditional LBS. I highly recommend them if you are in the market for a bike or gear.

I brought my old worn out bike to Mole Hill for service and restoration. They replaced very few parts and returned the bike to me in like new condition with nothing more than cleaning and skillful adjustment. I was amazed and very grateful.
