Pleasant facility - not too crowded or noisy. Diverse multiple workout machines and classes. The staff and fellow members. Massage offered a few days a week. Parking easy and always spaces. Price for seniors.
I have had really positive experiences with the morning staff and fitness class instructors. All very kind and welcoming and the facilities are in lovely condition.
The variety of classes is great. However they are WAY overcrowded and the instructors don't kick anyone out because they enjoy being popular. A normal feeling. At least can you ask Angela NOT to make us use the step, bands, gliders, and weights, several sizes all at once? There is not room for all of that.
The variety of classes, the equipment is maintained well, good instructors.
I enjoy exercising without “machines” too and am always trying to find ways to challenge my strength, flexibility and endurance in more creative ways
I just love going to this Y, as people are friendly -- not only the members, but the staff. I've never been disappointed during my visits. And the Y is undergoing some needed renovation, which is also a good thing.
Love the water aerobic program but wish the teaching could be more consistent. Have you ever considered training water aerobic teachers at the Y ? Some of the life guards might want to participate.
I appreciate the fully renovated facility, however it doesn't seem to really fix a lot of the issues in the prior building (other than removing asbestos). First, the weight area is much too small and crowded compared to every other gym in the area. I'm not seeing any meaningful improvement from the old building. Second, there are not enough treadmills. The treadmills and aerobics should be on the second floor (if you cannot walk up stairs, you shouldn't be on the treadmill) and the first floor should be all weights. I know this won't change, but I want to mention anyways.
Also - the towels are terrible.
