Excellent staff starting with facility’s CEO. His positive demeanor and professionalism filter down to the entire staff. The equipment is always clean and in excellent working order. Ryan and his staff are responsive to members’ concerns and they are always available to help. I recommend this facility with no reservation. Thank you Ryan for the example you set for the entire staff.

YMCA-New Tampa Is a really nice place for kids to start practicing a sport. People are nice, facility (court/gym) is also clean and safe. But I have a few things that I would like to suggest: 1. Players should be drafted with more fairness. Beginners should be distributed between all of the teams, not all in one team. It is not fair for some players that have more experience to carry the team only because the other players have no idea of the game and don’t know how to play it. I understand, everybody has a first time, but I felt that in this season some players were frustrated because most of the other players did not know how to play, and of course were loosing all the games. 2. Coaches are voluntary, and that’s amazing. But member or not, we are all paying. Coaches at least should have a little bit of experience or know the game to “coach”. Practices are not meant for free play, is for kids to learn the skills, rules, plays, etc. 3. Bathrooms!!! Needs to be clean more often, since kids are using it, most of the time is dirty and smells really bad. This was our 3rd season at YMCA, and even though we liked it, this season was not so great. This feedback is not meant to be rude or petty, is my personal opinion and I hope you can use it for the benefit of the program.

Our daughter loved to play basketball with Coach Paul for three seasons. She thrived and really grew more confident in her skills. We love the basketball program at the YMCA!

My child had an incredible experience participating in the YMCA basketball league this season. From the very first practice to the final game, it was clear how much thought and effort went into the program. Coach Parag was exceptional- not only was he patient and encouraging, but he also had a great ability to break down the fundamentals in a way the kids could understand. As the season progressed, he gradually introduced more advanced skills, keeping the players challenged and engaged. It was amazing to see my child’s growth over the course of the seasonand not just in terms of basketball skills, but also in confidence, teamwork, and understanding of the game. Every week, he looked forward to practices and games, and that enthusiasm is a testament to the positive, supportive environment Coach Parag created. We’re so grateful for the experience and can’t wait for the next season!
