The Y has been for decades a place to regain/maintain your health fitness...getting children a start in health and offering a selection of activities that lend it self to a lifetime of benefits...truly a gift for seniors as well.. currently, I'm dealing with a severe back issue and was told by my Dr. that swimming along with PT and acupuncture was would go a long way in preventing me from having extensive back surgery...so, as you can see the Y has become very important to me.
They offer good group classes, serve the community well in so many special activities for youth, adults and seniors!! They have an excellent wellness director, Cagan Richardson, who truly cares and listens to members.
I’ve been a member for 15 years. I feel comfortable there. It’s expensive than most gyms though. Two things I would like to see change is ;
More women trainers for personal training
Fix the uneven pavement near handicap parking
I love the classes- both the exercise classes and the art classes. I enjoyed celebrating Black History a couple of years ago, the fashion show and all the fun activities.
Excellent location, People (including front desk personnel are simply marvelous. This YMCA is well-equipped: The gym has a wide range of equipment suitable for various fitness levels. And has state-of-the-art machines
The gym (YMCA in general) is well-maintained and has a pleasant, clean environment.
Many classes are offered. All Ages (well, almost all ages). Nice size temperate pool. Check them out-
Thanks
