The outdoor water feature is not working, this is the second year in a row that it is down for extended periods of time. This past weekend there was some kind of spill on the floor, it looked and smelled like throw up. It was right in front of the entrance and was there until Monday. Today, in the entrance I saw a roach.
In general, enjoy my membership, these were things that were off putting.
Overall dirty appearance; the pool has been filthy all summer and needs tiles replaced and painted, dust & dirt hanging from venting areas around the treadmills on the upper west side of the building.
Not a fan of the Rap music in early morning. I gave guest passes out to friends at my church and they said after a morning visit that left because of the music too loud and rap. I don’t like it either, try to tune it out.
Have been very pleased with our experience here. Facilities are kept clean and in good shape, with thoughtful touches throughout and the employees are friendly!
The people are friendly. The facility is clean. The classes offered are wonderful.
A big shout out to Kathleen for keeping the music low. This is the only criticism I have of the facility. The music is way too loud and I detest rap. Play fun songs!
I have been out of the gym for most of the summer, but returned last week and was disappointed to see that many deferred maintenance and repairs that had not been completed in May remained unfinished three months later. The specific areas are in the men's locker room. Sheetrock has been cut out due to water damage, broken dispensers in the restrooms, and leaking faucets in showers.
I like the NLRAC, but there are a few things that bother me.
1. I work Monday - Friday, "banker's hours". Most classes are scheduled during weekdays. There are a few offered in evenings or weekends, but no water classes. It would be nice to have some sort of aquatic therapy classes on evenings and/or weekends.
2. There should be some sort of feedback system, instead of just having to wait until we are invited to do a survey. People suggest things to workers at the front desk, but feel like the input stops there.
3. My spouse and I go to the club 3 mornings a week when the facility opens. Every day it is the same playlist or genre of music. Maybe some people like the music that is played, but others might enjoy other kinds as well. It would be great if there were several kinds of music that were played and alternated. Maybe Mondays could be hip hop, Tuesdays: 70's, Wednesday: 80's, Thursday: Country, Fridays: Heavy Metal, etc... I am open minded enough to know that my cup of tea might not be everyone's, but the same kind of music everyday that I'm hearing there isn't mine either. Have some variety, change it up! Your demographics of clients are diverse, why isn't the playlist?
4. The whirlpool in the ladies locker room has been having some issues of not heating enough several times over the last few months. It gets fixed, but then goes out again. A more permanent fix might be on order.
5. The crossfit weight lifters are dropping the weights from too high up. I complained once at the front desk and was told, "they are conserving their energy for lifting them." There are signs in other places not to drop the weights. The sound is very annoying (and startling to some of us with PTSD), and I am sure it shortens the lifespan of the equipment. Please enforce the not dropping them to the floor from waist high.
6. The stand-on scale in the ladies locker room tips back and forth. It is not stable.
I like the classes that are offered. I attend Legend’s and Pilates I.
The staff has been helpful when needed.
Members could help more keeping the facility cleaner by cleaning up after themselves better or alerting staff instead of walking away. Such is life I guess.
The building is always clean, the staff is attentive, friendly and helpful. The variety of classes , and the quality of instructors are top notch !
Thank you !
