The staff are very friendly. Tessa has been an amazing personal trainer and has made me feel so comfortable learning how to be safe and swim in the pool.
I have been to the Northern Neck YMCA twice so far and I had an amazing experience! We have been going for my toddlers swim lessons. Tessa has been amazing and encouraging. The facility is very beautiful and easy to navigate.
Very friendly staff. Quiet gym so you can do your workout without issues . Nice variety of machines for strength training and cardio.. lots of classes to get you moving .
I mostly attend for the pickleball. But recently after not being able to, I have started to work out again. It’s great to see so many folks exercising seemingly enjoying themselves.
Everyone was very helpful and the sign up process was easy. Robyn at the front helped out with technology on the phone app. which was greatly appreciated.
The Kilmarnock YMCA is a vital community center -- a safe, clean and welcoming place offering fun and fitness activities for everyone at modest expense. The Northern Neck is fortunate to have such a facility. I like that my wife can swim, work out and do yoga there regularly. I use the Y's locker room to change clothes after outdoor bicycle rides. My cycling group meets about three mornings a week at the Y parking lot. It's a great location to start and finish a ride and we all highly value that. When I go in and out of the building, I notice men, women and children of all income levels, races and ages taking part in the Y's various programs. There are too few institutions left in this country where you can see that, but at the Y you can. The Y is the kind of place that brings people together, instead of driving us apart. I like the example that the Y sets for our community and our country. It's an example that should be more widely followed.
Every one is friendly. The instructors are great. The facility is clean and inviting and the community is top notch. It's a gift to have such a great place in our neighborhood :)
I really like all the activities offered by the Y, the swimming especially and the group exercise classes as well as the weights and all the machines, but I do feel $60 a month is a bit steep. I have recommended a few people but then they forget to write down that I recommend them. Will have to go with the ones I recommend so I can get the credit. But even with that, I still feel that $60 is a lot. I will not be 65 for another year and the rate is $3.00 less. I feel the rate should be $5.00 less. There is a lot the Y offers for the price that is charged, I understand that, but $60 a month seems excessive to me, but that does not stop me from coming to the Y 5 days a week.
