I am a 77 year old senior and have very few family here in Florida. The NW YMCA is my daily outlet. My doctor says that I should get exercise. I tried to walk outside but I got rained on, i.e. my eyeglasses got wet, I couldn't see, my flip flops got wet and I was slipping and sliding in my flip flops, I was soaking wet, and I never walked outside again. So for my exercise, I rely solely on the NW YMCA. I can drive there in 13 minutes.
The community , and the confidence it brings me and others around me and the fitness teachers that make it worth it . Shout out to Peggy, Jenny , Jessica,Pedro,Candice have been a great blessing for the knowledge and wisdom they provide and they make the YMCA worth what itis much needed in a good foundation of a gym , Very blessed with my last 9 months consistently going it has been a journey but worth it going the YMCA . I want to say I feel northwest has the best Zumba instructors and for amount of money and its helping a good cause . it makes it worth coming to the YMCA for my gym membership.
I recommend the Northwest YMCA because the class instructors are nice, provide a good workout and really care about us. The front door staff are always so welcoming and even recognize when we leave and say things like "Have a nice day" or Thanks for coming". Whenever I need help with my membership, they always work with me on cost. There is plenty of parking, many different types of group classes to choose from and plenty of weights to keep strong and other machines to challenge different fitness levels. I see many fitness trainers hard at work helping people with personal goals. There is a nice size pool too. They have childcare, after-school care, fun activities for kids and children's sports programs too. They occasionally do evening events for families and members like painting or art. Silver Sneakers classes for older folks too. I saw members playing Pickleball in the gym as well. The only reason I don't give a 10 rating is because there is no steam sauna.
