We loved the program and the people there. We were able to join the Cedar Park YMCA for much less. Their monthly membership fee is way less than yours. You guys do not offer a senior price and they do.
The swim instructors are fantastic. They encourage kids without forcing them to do things they aren’t ready for. We had tried a different swim school where my child was forced underwater and became afraid to put his face in the water. After a couple sessions at the Y, he is excited to look around underwater and swim with his face in the water. We couldn’t be happier!
We love the YMCA! If not for not being able to go more often we would have maintained our membership, and hope to be back. The swim lessons and various camp/activities for kids, childcare while working out, indoor gym and outdoor pool/grounds, and with all the equipment you need and more as someone with a physically demanding job the YMCA has it all.
We couldn’t find an avenue to join the classes because you couldn’t sign up until a couple of days before. And, the classes were mainly offered on Saturday mornings. Our schedules did not mesh with that.
The swimming was intimidating so only did that a couple of times.
We enjoyed the stationary bikes but wanted more.
We love Kathleen (SP?) our swimming teacher. She is fun, she knows how to give confidence to the kids as they try new things in the water. She has patience and is very kind. I would definitely recommend to others.
I’ve been participating in the Northwest Family swim programs for a little over a year now and it’s been a blast so far. I started in the adult beginner classes and have worked my way up to the Masters swim team. Carolyn is a great coach and is great at encouraging camaraderie between the swimmers and between other Y staff and lifeguards.
I have been participating in the Masters Swimming program for 16 years. I come back year after year because of several reasons. Carolyn Castillo is an amazing coach and mentor and I love the friendships I have established with my team mates.
