[FIRST NAME REMOVED] absolutely loves coming to before and after school care. Miss Michelle is great and keeps the kids busy and engaged while at the Y.
I like the teachers and staff how friendly and welcoming everyone is and the attention they give to the children and keeping the parents updated throughout the day if needed.
They are quick to remedy perceived issues and cries for help...For example:
- My grandson has a milk allergy so they are using the provided soy and making sure he doesn't eat milk based lunches!
- When my 91 yo dad had to have a medical procedure done, they agreed the grandson could stay an extra hour which was a HUGE relief to me (since I was already under enough stress doing the cancer journey with Dad)
- Other parents are friendly and we even trade clothes and toys; which is a huge help since I'm living on SS. But best of all, they don't look at me like "some old lady" - I'm "an older mom"...lol
Overall, it’s a great program and my son always comes home with a smile on his face. I feel secure about his attendance at camp while working as well. I know he’s in good hands.
All of them!
My grandson just finished his very last day at the Octorara Y summer camp attending various programs for 10 years! He started at 2 1/2 years old in daycare but has also attended the before and after school care programs (SACC) and summer camps.
In just a few weeks he will be 13 and in 7th grade. We both loved the Y and will miss them dearly as he has aged out now.
Please no more Kona Ice. I don't want to pay for it or make my child feel like if I don't spend the $5 he is being left out (and I have 3 kids...so $15 a week is a little much). I prefer ice pops or another activity. Thanks!
I love the octorara ymca summer camp team. They are so organized and experienced. I visited jennersville and I will never sign up my children for jennersville again. Too much chaos, too many kids in small spaces.
