I like the way that we all work together in a group. I like that i gaining my strength back more every day. I like that I'm loosing weight that I never thought I could, going to OTF was the best thing I have done for myself!!!
I have been a member of OTF-HM since 10/2015 and enjoy every minute of every workout. I thought I was working out hard until I learned what that really meant. The coaches (Abby, Preston, Kevin, and Heidi) are wonderful! Although OTF offers a templated workout they all add something special and that adds to the experience. However, there is an opportunity for improvement in the facility and how it communicates with the members.
Safety should be a concern in any organization. The floor was buckled for an extended period of time near the heavy free weights before it was repaired. I personally, tripped on the elevated rubber several times while holding weights. I felt like it should have been addressed much sooner than it was. Identifying safety issues and concerns should be a top priority.
The bathrooms are clean and I appreciate the attention to the bathrooms. However, the workout area is dusty and unacceptable. It is a safety concern to have dust on the sprinkler heads. As I laid on the floor doing abdominal exercises, I noticed the large amounts of dust on the sprinklers and lights. The ceiling tiles are stained. I understand life happens and there was a water leak but the tiles were never changed after the leak was repaired.
There should be better communication with members. I should not sign up for a class with one trainer and walk into OTF to find another trainer. There are too many ways to communicate with members for this to occur. Classes are changed without offering feedback from members. Members generally adjust their schedules to attend a specific trainers class. This is of utmost important to me. OTF-HM could do better with communication and transparency. I think it is great a newsletter has been put into place and hope it can be used to improve much-needed communication.
Heidi is the new head trainer at OTF and I am excited to see a fresh face with a positive spirit. I hope OTF-HM can regain their sense of community. Hopefully, Heidi will be provided an opportunity to manage the schedule to help improve communication. It is important for front-line staff to be given the opportunity to improve their work environment. Allowing head trainers to make schedules allows for better communication and promotes leadership.
I have left many comment cards and spoke with Allie M. on more than one occasion regarding my concerns. Instead of her taking feedback and addressing issues or concerns, she did the exact opposite. I feel as though paying members should have a voice. I felt no one was listening and she did not take my feedback seriously. Allie put her personal choices in front of the clientele even after constructive criticism.
I hope with new leadership, OTF-HM will again inspire members to achieve their health and fitness goals. I have recommended OTF to countless members without asking for anything in return (no water bottles, towels, or any merchandise of any kind). Remember your customers are how your organization remains in business.
