Group workouts can be intimidating for me sometimes because I compare myself to the folks around me and can get discouraged if I feel behind or out of shape. Orangetheory really forces you to focus on your performance only, so your only 'competition' is yourself.
Variety. Low impact but high intensity. Able to push at your own rate, so don't have to keep up with people at different fitness levels. And, honestly, the "no cancel within 8 hours" has helped motivate to not miss classes. Plus the flexibility of the class times.
It's was great! I'm an out of studio member taking a class at Logan Square, Il from Sherman Oaks, Ca. Very welcoming staff. Helped me in every way I had asked.
Big studio! Clean and nice equipment just like my own studio. I had two great workouts; one with the head trainer, Kelcey. (I believe)
The workouts are so balanced I have noticed real overall change in my whole body, from weight loss to muscle building, strength and sculpting without bulk.
I like all the employees, they are friendly and knowledgeable. The instructors are easy to follow during class and make it fun and fast paced so that I don't think about the 60 min struggle!
The extra challenges that seem to be ongoing add a fun competitive edge that makes you feel part of something 'bigger' than simply attending a workout class - it makes you want to keep coming in!
If you are new, the coaches work with you to teach and guide you. If you are experienced the coaches will push you to do better. The interval training in a group setting with a pre-planned workout will kick you butt (and gut) in the best way possible.
Doesn't hurt that everyone at Logan Square is super nice - front desk and coaches.
