I have been a member of Orange Theory Fitness for about 6 years. The MLK location has grew coaches who are motivating, personable and are well trained. The workouts are very challenging but safe. I always leave feeling as though I received a very hard but safe and well thought out workout. Erin is a wonderful head coach who offers constructive feedback and makes me feel welcome whenever I am there.
The coaches and staff are fantastic!!! They are knowledgeable, positive, supportive, and create a sense of community for all. The workouts are great - never boring and a good balance of cardio and strength.
Simply put, OTF instructors are the best in the business.
Also of note is that over the past couple of years OTF recognized that its founding idea relating to a focus on high intensity workouts in the "orange" and above zones is viewed by modern exercise physiologists as problematic at best. So, OTF has adapted its workouts to focus more on moderate ("green" ) and other training zones. And, OTF has added breath work to workouts as well as separate strength training sessions. Kudos for that. This is in contrast to some other fitness organizations that have not permitted themselves to evolve to suchba degree.
And, the music has gotten better over the last year or so...
I recently had the opportunity to try out the gym for a free trial, and I must say, I was impressed. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel incredibly welcomed. There was even a personalized welcome sign with my name, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere was friendly, and the people there were all supportive and encouraging.
One standout staff member, Erin, really made my experience memorable. She struck the perfect balance of pushing me to do my best without making me feel inadequate. I appreciated that I could do the workouts at my own pace and comfort level while still being encouraged to challenge myself.
The only downside for me was the getting in the red, isn't really my favorite. But overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this gym to anyone looking for a welcoming environment with supportive staff.
I love OT! I have worked out at gyms for 25 years and this is the best one hour workout I've ever found. The one thing I would love more of is coach feedback on form when on the floor and on the rowers
I like the low light, club-type atmosphere, I like the upbeat dance music, I like the fact that I'm doing different things throughout the workout and that I'm targeting strength training as well as cardio, and I love the HIIT style workout. The coaches are energetic, friendly, and fun, and all of the staff make effort to create an environment that makes everyone feel part of the group. The location is very convenient to me and there are lots of options for classes.
